Root Help Rooting LG Stylo 2

Has anyone successfully rooted a Virgin Mobile device on ZV4? I really want to get root, but I'm not sure I want to be the first to try it.

So I broke down and tried it anyway. :)

I got to the point of typing: run-as -exec sh
It comes back with "Failed to execute 'sh'!"

The next command the directions say to try and chmod 0777 /system/bin/sh then comes back with permission denied, but that really doesn't matter because those are already the permissions on that file.

Trying the exec on sh again leads to the same failed to execute error.

The weird thing is that if I run: "run-as -exec id"
The output of that implies that I am root, so I have no idea why I can't execute sh.

I believe it depends on what your carrier is and what zv you are on because I believe one or both of them kill the communication through adb and fastboot. The higher the zv the harder to establish root. A certain command change could provide root but finding the loophole around the security is the question on the most part.

I've tried to root mine. No success yet.

So we need to fix the fstab files in the recovery.img so it will mount everything and flash perfectly. My deal is that it won't boot in the emulator and I've spent a whole 48hours trying this back to back to back. The red bulls and redlines and 5hour energy's and coffee are no longer useful lol xO

Ok, I will find him and message him. By chance do yall think yall could give him y'all's info as well to help with development. I contacted a guy from the lg volt forum. His name is spock1104. I'm trying to get us devs to help with this project. I also want to gain their knowledge on ROM building and hopefully spit out some ROMs for us to try. I love the lg stuff don't get me wrong but the bloat is annoying and I could use a newer taste of Android software like nougat lol but for now I gots to gets some shut eye lol got one eye open right now [emoji42]

I was thinking of rooting for the 1st time but i haven't figured out where to start with the lg stylo 2 for boost. Has anyone figured out how?

Tried the drammar and dirty cow exploits. Drammar did nothing and dirty cows executed but no root, failed to elevate the prompt to root. I've rooted almost every one of my phones and this is killing me  I'm on zv5 btw.

So I'm seeing you can temp root. If i were to get the temp root and change some things in the phone (trying to change off of the nasty LG emojis) would it stay after the root permissions left? Also "temp root" means after reboot it goes away right?
