Root Help Rooting LG Stylo 2

I've been waiting for your input roadkill! I got the tut link in an earlier thread. Please let me know. I was gonna do it but can't backup phone before trying to unlock bl.

How do I make a backup with the stock recovery. I have the adaptable storage mod on so I think that would conflict my backup with no sd card wouldn't it?

If u have pc i would copy them to pc as for apps on ur device can b gotten again and ur phone contacts make sure moove all ur pics too perty much all u have to worry about except going through the set up again and not take in any system updates in progress

To flash stock visit lg firmware downloads and input your imei if they have the rom it will be there then use the lg flash tool.
Phone in download mode do with volume up pressed and plug into a computer with the adb drivers installed and working.
Or send to factory for reflash.
Remember if you really need your phone the rule of rooting is don't do it unless you know you can fix it in case the methods don't work.
Try flashing stock firmwares before any attempts to root so you can keep your device working.
Another way is to purchase a new phone and swap it for your bricked one and return it immediately but check the stores return policy beforehand because some will not accept the phone if the package is opened.
Then disable updates before using wifi or activating the device, app updates disabled and software disabled.
Hope this helps until the methods of rooting work.
Also if a copy of the firmware can be uploaded or viewable by the person trying to root could help.
Try requesting cf-autoroot from chainfire but these devices aren't that popular yet so maybe later.

They have the rom source codes for download but u have to be able to put it too gether

I have worked with many custom roms so with the stock image I can try/ or we can try Ext4 viewer and the decompiler and a rom kitchen then maybe build the root into the stock image and then have a useable rom or a way to root these things.
My pc is down and I'm waiting for Windows10 pro disk.
Then I can try myself.

Just part of the tools I know about.

Well for what I read these are the things we are somewhat able to do:
> Unlock the bootloader (haven't tried but for what I've read pretty worthy)
> Get perm or temp root under the K4 or Zv4 update (anything above k4 or Zv4 is not reachable)
> KingRoot has gave up completely. They stopped to go towards newer phone (Google Pixel, and others)

> Since this thread was made for the LG Stylo 2 rooting access, a lot of fake websites have been created in attempts to scam people and putting viruses.
> Apparently people who are super intelligent don't want to help the ones who sacrifice their phones.

> Thanks to the information of @roadkill42 We have the source code for Zv3. But we need a dev who is kind enough too help us out putting it together. So if this happens we are able to get Root Access and have custom ROMS for the LG Stylo 2. LG has a tool that will let you downgrade to Zv3 and complete a ROM dump without being rooted.
