Root Help Rooting LG Stylo 2

Hey guys so im totally new with rooting been reading a lot on it for about a year now. Ive been keep my eye on this forum for like 3 months now. But i got the stylo 2 k540. Wondering if anyone has had any luck yet. And if so is anyon willing to walk me through it.

Thanks
I've managed to temp root my Cricket K540 using Kingroot. You really can't accomplish anything with temp root. It's been weeks ago so I've forgotten the exact steps and I'm not bothering with it again until permanent root is achieved, if ever.

My phone works fast, reliably, and lets me turn on/off location easily. I'm not in too much of a hurry.

If u use flash fire think thats the program get the flashable su then flash it u should have full root

Flash Fire would give me an error about not having root access and then puke.

Only thing I could get excited, hot and bothered about was Root Checker lying and leading me on telling me I had root access when I really didn't.

Like I said, not very useful at this time.

So i have been following this ...not too promising so far but i was messing with the phone and if you hold down the volume up button (while powered off) then plug it in micro usb (to a computer) while still holding down Volume up button it boots into download/Firmware Update mode?? Not sure if that helps anyone but figured i would put it in here. I tried fastboot oem unlock in different modes doesn't do anything. There is a safe mode too but that seem useless for this topic. Maybe the firmware update mode you can sneak a recovery image with superuser on it. I might be horribly wrong but figured i would mention it.
I believe that mode is for the LG flash tool, so if we ever get an image for the stock ROM, that is where you'll need to be.

I've got the Cricket version, Stylo 2 model K540, Marshmallow 6.0.1, (ver K54012d) and have tried everything I can find with no result. Following this thread, fingers crossed.

...Okay...so, seriously?

We can't find a way to definitely root this device...for any service provider?

Not using Towel Root, Z4Root, KingRoot, One-Click Root...not even pushing the root through ADB???
------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684210 ....?

I'm about to buy this phone and use it with Boost. Because Boost is a solid provider.

So seriously, there's nothing anyone can do? I'm not adverse to any options.

Never bricked a device and tbh, I don't see many irreversible outcomes...unless the hardware is fried somehow, there is always a way to reflash the ROM. No matter if you have to find the right pins on the IC and do all kinds of weird things...or not.

Am buying this phone to use with a Google Cardboard Viewer headset that I bought. Which will be here in a couple of days. Actually I plan to turn it into a Google Daydream Viewer and use one of my other rooted devices as the controller.

Need to put Android 7 (Nougat) on the Stylo 2 in order for this to work. Obviously, I will need to root it. I've rooted a lot of my devices but never installed a custom ROM. Closest I've come is changing to boot animation to an activated Stargate, LOL. But. Not adverse to any options.

Have used ADB many times to push and pull commands.

...so...if no one can think of ANY POSSIBLE ROOTING METHOD. No matter how advanced...

I suppose there is no way to install a rootable frameware on the phone without rooting it, either...right? Like no rolling back the system to a rootable version and then flashing to Nougat...heh heh....?? Probably not.

But really. I need this phone to be rooted and secure in two days.

I can't find anything on this and it's been out for way long enough. There's no excuse.

Help me. Please.

The bootloader unlock method does not work; it's been tried. The problem is that adb reboot bootloader doesn't bring you to the bootloader. In fact you can't get to fastboot at all, so any method that requires that will fail.

You can unlock the boot loader with the adb command "fastboot oem unlock" but first you have to enable oem under developer options
