Basically, if you're going to bring your phone in as others here have or even just update the profile, you need to be on a Sense based ROM. You can't do it from CM. Just make a nandroid backup of CM, wipe everything, flash any Sense ROM of your choice, don't even bother restoring anything, do whatever process you intend to do (bring the phone in for reprovisioning, update profile, whatever), then restore your nandroid backup.
Also when you flash a new rom it will back to old settings so remember to re-apply and it wont make you more vulnerable to anything.
Yea, but I'm curious, it says in the OP @ XDA
So will it reset the settings when going from Sense to AOSP?
. If you're going to reprovision or update profile, you need to go to sense and back. If you want to do that particular mod in that xda thread, you have to be on a Sense ROM and stay on a Sense ROM. It reverts the change, otherwise, apparently.Right, I didn't realize that's what he was talking about. If you're going to reprovision or update profile, you need to go to sense and back. I edited my post, but I'm sure the same applies
I will definitely try calling them tonight (assuming that I don't have to unroot to call do I?) If worst comes to worst ill just unroot and take it in... because this is getting frustrating it took me almost 10 minutes to load this page and write this....-_-
That is exactly what happened to me. Either call in or unroot and take it in and they can fix it. Mine was averaging worse pings though, like 945+. Now it pings at under 200ms.
I think it only matters in this case, where its a hard stop. Its not going to fix the occasional crappy performance due to load or bad server but in my case before they did it I NEVER got a decent speed in 3g. 140k was my absolute max in every test. Im still convinced that with a hard stop like that I wasnt actually in EVDORevA even though the phone would say "3g." I think it assumes all EVDO is 3g.
to which I said no, so they suggested I go in to a sprint store... so Unrooting is in my future... Just have to find time for it...lolThe page didnt load until 9:42 which is 5 minutes after I initiated the page... I'm starting to think that my problem is software related since the same thing happens on WIFI...
Yeah yours arent speed issues, something is wrong someplace else.
B1 ....do you have adfree on the phone? If you do..clear its data and cache then uninstall it and try a page load again
I dont think so Let me check under manage applications
EDIT I dont seem to have it
archercc can you point me to where you got the unrooting files? thanks
Since I'm on a AOSP ROM I had to use root explorer and change up the host file to 0.0.0.0 and started getting much better speeds back.
If you go to the root thread in here it tells you how under section 6 I believe. You get the S-ON tool from unrevoked to restore security to the flash and then just flash the signed sprint RUU package (which is also linked). Its really easy, just flashing two zips.
