Help How to get back touchwiz?

now me personally i would go for a rooted stock rom if i were you being rooted has so many advantages you truly do have control of device..but thats just my opinion do what makes you feel more comfortable remember its your device dont let others push or decide what to dow with your device

I am starting to think you aren't as much as a noob as you think you are..

You have some potential I am sure you will get tired of touchwiz and flash other ROMs you are taking the first steps all you need to see is touchwiz lag ...

Oh I have, many times... once my phone even reset itself... it did that a few times once I first got CM as well. Lol, the lag was the reason I got CM in the first place, but I realized that I should play it safe so that when my contact does end (which is more than a year...) I'll be able to return it without them knowing anything XD

(plus IMO stock android looks a bit bland, I like the colourfulness of TW, but the lag makes me wanna rip my hair out sometimes, sometimes the lock screen can take up to five seconds to open...)

:pcguru:

I just love how androidlover9 know how to find what we ask. Just wait till he gets the basics. I can almost smell the flash a holic ,he got cm11 with just following guides pretty soon androidlover will be giving the advice

hey im wondering seeing how you are on 4.3 through ota you probably have knox bootloader now which hasnt been cracked yet so we can reset the flash counter which voids warranty for us...to find out put phone in download mode and see what it says under trip counter let us know

i was looking at that as well looks like it would but would also lose root if thats what is wanted, would seem to be a useful file to have.

androidlover if you do use this i would definitly read the thread first to make sure its something you want to do

Okay I'll give it a read.

Thanks for the link, looks promising, I'll give it a try tomorrow :D

I have no reason for it to be rooted, (I like ART, but it had a few bugs...) so I might as well get rid of it.

I did the OTA update for Android 4.3 back in november, I downloaded CM 11 three weeks ago? Something like that.

Hey I'm just a kid with a flashy phone  lol

Lol dont be like me 20 phones in two years... The addiction hit me hard

Lol what? Did you just buy every phone in existance?

I have a worse problem... Idk what phone I would get next, I'm down to nexus 5, htc one (m8) or galaxy S5...

Galaxy looks ugly, and touchwiz is laggy.... but nice looking skin overall :P

nexus 5 looks a bit meh and no explandable storage/removable battery...

htc: looks pretty cool, the OS colours are kinda iffy, the top part is a bit big, the power button should be on the left side, the htc logo on the bottom takes up too much space....

On topic: As I am reading through the comments, I am hearing this is only for only AT & T or something... but apparently the firmware works!

Should I just do it since my phone and the firmware have the same exact code number thing?

tomy knowledge bell is a att varient you should be find just make sure the model number and or the build number is the same the developers are pretty good in stating that in there op also reading the posts in the respective thread will let ya know as well

Still a lot XD my sister had the HTC wildfire s at one point... She doesn't like android anymore and now uses the evil iPhone!!! Lol

So I did a self serve... Even the folks at bell said my model thing is SGH-I747M, but in my phone settings it always said SGH-i747, and I swear the SGH-i747M was the black version of the S3? I dunno...

You could have just said download mode= recovery mode... I know THAT much :p

i wanted you to gointo download mode to check your flash counter.
flash counter is sammys way of checking to see if you flashed phone..
why this is important is because that will void warranty and with the 4.3 update they installed knox bootloader which has yet to be cracked by developers...if its been tripped in my opinion mine as well keep root but like i said my opinion...any way you should check just to see incase you ever have to send to sammy

btw nfl draft is what im watching while ive been posting here nothing to do with android or this thread just making excuse for my mistake lol

So, to clear this up, download mode= volume down + home + power?

I already know I flashed it, other wise I wouldn't have cm.

First, you need to back away from the ledge a little. KitKat official hasn't been released yet, so there's no panic. Second, even if it is released, you can still go back to 4.3, then update it.

Flashing a ROM via the pc version of Odin is as simple as it gets. I have done it hundreds of times. I have never bothered with the mobile version, because the PC version is simple.

You need to get the correct ROM for your phone. I don't know if ATT will work with Bell or not. The only risk, I would think, is that the radio may not be exactly correct.

Once you have 4.3, you can not go lower than that. At this point, you must find the correct 4.3 ROM to flash. Anything less than 4.3 will brick your phone.

Relax, breathe, and get the correct ROM. After that, it's very straightforward.

Again - you have some time. Patience is your friend.

I was under the impression that the Bell model was an M version. Did you pull the battery and look at the sticker in the battery compartment?

The custom ROM that you did might have left the M off in the settings tab. I have been through that with international versions of the i8190. Flashing different ROMs will leave the letter identifier off if it's not that particular model's ROM.

I had a i8190L that I flashed an i8190 ROM for, thinking it would be the same. About 100 ROM flashes later, I finally got back to the stock ROM for that phone, where the "L" designation would show up.

The sticker will say, though.

If memory serves, the M ROM is not the same as the non-M ROM.
