Help HOW TO: Reverting Back to 2.1

I want to downgrade back to 2.1 but cant find the downgrade.zip file I need can someone please PM me with it?

it had to get takin down because of the C&D from moto. you can get "the bomb" from rootzwiki and it has the rsd with patch, the drivers needed and the sbf file in it.

Dear Members,

Okay, So I broke the rules already by posting a link, and the two Files I hosted exceeded a total of 10TBs in bandwidth, therefore I am going to have to wait until at LEAST Sept. 1st to get them back online.

On another note: I don't know that I will be allowing downloads of the Downgrade.zip per the rules of this forum.

I am going to talk to the site owner and see what I can do about all of you that want the Downgrade.zip. I will NOT, however, be breaking the rules again, and I hope you all can understand that.

I will say this: the file is hosted on Megaupload. That's all im going to say, I wont be posting links or search terms anymore, I'm sorry. (PS; I have PM'd a few mods to make sure I am allowed to mention even this.)

In the meantime, I will still be helping people as much as I can. I am currently going though my first year in Med. School so I have a LOT on my plate at this time. So please don't get upset if I don't answer your PM's right away. I WILL respond to you guys, DON'T WORRY.

If I don't PM you back immediately, or it's short it's because I'm likely on my phone or in a hurry. However, I strongly encourage you guys to post here in this thread. MANY of the people on this forum are KIND, HELPFUL, and Knowledgeable.

Here are just a few names that I believe can assist you with this topic:

-ECFfighter7232
-binary visions
-Airmaxx23
-mxsjw
-HauntedHallows

(PS: If any of the above wish to me removed from this post, Please PM me or a Mod with the Subject: 'Removal Request'. Alternatively, if you would like to be added to this list, do the same with the Subject: 'Append Request'.)

Also, My Inbox has been BLOWING UP with PM's. As you know I only have 50 MAX. I may have lost some of your messages, and I may have just not had time to respond to them yet. I WILL NOT be sending the link to the Downgrade.zip file out to people per the rules, so please stop asking.

I'll definatly try to help however I can... Im by no means a master of this subject, but I've done it a couple times now and have a pretty good grasp of it lol. I'm on here a lot throughout the work day during the week so I'll chime in when I can for help.

make sure you moved the pst_flash.ini file into the RSD directory like i said in the video.

Also, make sure the drivers are properly installed.

even if it goes to the code corrupt screen, load the bootloader (Camera + vol down + pwr).

You're not screwed, you can ALWAYS re-flash the phone, making it virtually unbrickable.

I cannot for the life of me find the pst_flash.ini file. Where is it. I cant see your video well enough.

googled it dont even remember.

oh ok. depending on where you got it from depends on if it came with the patched ini file.
if you download "the bomb" from rootzwiki it has the drivers, and the rsd + the patched ini file youll need. once you unzip the rsd file it puts both the rsd program and the patched ini into the same folder for you.

Well I got all the files RSD lite the sbf and drivers but I seem to be having a problem :(. I cannot get the RSD lite to reconize the .sbf files under windows 7 64bit op. It never shows up on the right side of the RSD program even though I point to it. Can anyone help? I did move the pstflash.ini to the RSD folder already.

I had the same problem on windows 7. I couldnt figure it out for the life of me. Fortunately my work computer is windows xp and it worked perfect there. if anyone figures it out why its not working or has ideas please post them up

I assume that doing this will force you to have to reactivate your phone. How exactly do you do that? I bought my phone from a Verizon store so they just handed it to me when it was ready to go. What all has to be done to tie the phone back to your phone number/account?

congrats to those who got this to work I cant seem to get it to work because the RSD lite doesnt see the .sbf file correctly. Doesnt show up on the right side of it when its selected under a windows 7 64bit computer. Think 64bit computers are having problems with this from what I can read of it. Can anyone help?

The phone should do it automatically at your 1st boot after the flash. Only thing you should need is the password to sync your contacts.

when mine booted up I had a button to activate and a emergency button. I pressed activate, it made a call and activated the phone... done and done. very simple

RSD sees my phone and I have the sbf selected. But, the start button stays grayed out. What should I do?

Is the general consensus that this process works better on a 32bit machine than a 64bit? My new laptop is Win7 64 bit, but I still have my old XP machine. Should I attempt this on Win7 or knock the cobwebs off the old XP machine?

i used win7 64 bit with no trouble....where are people running into trouble on 64-bit machines? Be sure to install the correct drivers.
