HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

I have had this problem intermittently even on v2 of 2.1. It usually goes away within a few hours.

I mean when you go through the setup and you put in your email address and password. It wouldn't find for me. I had to hit manual setup and put in the imap settings just like all other builds since 1.5.

A guy posted a thread (had about 50 posts) saying that his wiz cousin was able to take his non-rooted 2.1 back to 1.5. He said that the cousin was busy with finals and would write up a tutorial this weekend. Trident requested that the tutorial be submitted to the devs before releasing to the general public and the OP agreed. The thread was deleted because it just started getting into a slugfest. If this pans out, Trident or Acidbath will create a thread to post the tutorial.
 
i honestl think that he silent/broekn audio on phone call bug is in some way shape or form hardware related.

it seems that if you have it, you had it since v1 leak and still have it now...and if you don't have it, you don't, at all.

i woud say MOST, do not have this bug, but there are a few here that have dealt with it since v1

I agree I have used all 3 versions of the leak so far and have never had the audio stop out problem. I do use a Bluetooth almost everytime I use the phone so not sure if that matters.

I'd like to thank Caddy for this. I installed this today and my Eris seems to be working much better. On v2 the phone function barely worked for me. I could hardly make phone calls or receive them. It seems much better now.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Funny it seems like that was weeks ago even though it's only been a few days, LOL.
 
I upgraded to the 2.1 leak v3 last last from 1.5.. So far it was a little laggy at first but after tweaking with it and turning off animations it seems to be running pretty smoothly, I do have the 50% without signal issue, but it's not a big deal for me to use the temporary "fix" as I don't restart my phone very often. I am curious what this " silent bug" is if anyone could fill me in so what I could be looking for? I have both placed and received calls from known and unknown numbers and seemed to work so far.. does that mean I am good, or could I still possibly have it, Thanks in advance!

I was all set to put in an insurance claim, but I stopped when I saw the price and was wondering if I can contact Verizon about a device issue and get a new one without have to file an insurance claim?
 
Anyone having trouble with wifi? Cant seem to connect to any, even open ones after 2.1v3

EDIT: Are you having "complete connection failure" or is it more on the side of you connect but cant surf? I am finding issues with the Eris and DNS or should I say the lack thereof.

I just tested a WiFi Router here at work that I could not connect to and forced the DNS address to that of the Router (Default Gateway) and now I can connect. Obviously you cannot do this with public hot spots, but it appears what I found is a DNS issue.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried downloading the file twice, from two different sites. Both times it gives me the above message. The only way out is to hit Vol Up which freezes the phone.... Pull the battery and try again....
 
Bit the bullet and installed it....OMG! I never knew what I was missing. 2.1 is like a totally different OS than 1.5. Well there goes being productive for the rest of the day.
 
I didn't feel like doing this at first, but after reading over the bug fixes, I took the dive. Third time I've reflashed 2.1...

I didn't have the silent call issue the last two times, and I'm hoping I stay lucky.

Used the SDK to take screenshots so I could re-setup my phone just how I had it before =D
 
Wow, nice job. This version is super zippy, I'm actually using Sense. Haven't noticed any bugs as of yet, never had the silent problem. Very happy to see clear, crisp favorites photos and facebook photos.

I'm sad that I didn't know to root before I installed the first leak, but I'm so happy that you guys work so hard for us to get us new versions. Thankyou to all of you.

For you people who have never had the silent call bug, can you tell me if there's anything you think is unusual about your own use of the phone? Like, "I'm not using Gmail" or "I don't let my phone auto sync" or "I've never used bluetooth"? And is your hardware version "002" (in settings: about phone: hardware)?
 
Dunno if I'm alone, but I have NO CLUE how to get swype working. Every version I've tried says it's not the right size for the screen. Can someone help who has it running now? Thanks!

Ive never had this problem, my hardware is 0002, and ive never used a bluetooth headset. Ive connect to my PC via bluetooth just never a headset.

As long as the they can't blame you for the issues the phone it having..(water damage, dropped phone, etc.), you will not have to use your insurance. It will all be covered under warranty.
