Root [Kernel][GB] KoumaKernel 2.5

put adb on your c drive not in any folder and open command any type
Code: 
cd c:\
adb
If it gives you a list of available commands you're good
 
Yeah . It's kinda tough if you've never done it and it's kinda hard to type someone through it in the forum . I had a friend of mine teach me over the phone a while back . Using the ADB feature is not really that hard . You just gotta know what to do once you get there . lol

If Kouma wouldn't have spelled it out , I would have been lost and that's the truth . :D
 
ok i know when im licked..or not expert enough after trying to do that third partition i soft bricked the phone had to do a total reinstall, at least i got the main part ok kk to work again ...

thanks to kouma and all who tried to help me or point me in the right direction
 
All ya gotta do is Odin all the FA19 tar files except the phone tar, use the ej06 phone tar. That way everything is updated but the phone tar . That phone tar is the best 1 anyways . :D

I finally figured it out. thanks to all for the help, and the tips.
I guess i'm just used to being spoon fed the fixes, and links for whatever i need at any given time. This time, i had to work for it. Made it that much more rewarding!

Just spent the last hour and a 1/2 with the super secret mod.. Its pretty sweet..done on my 4gb card..just to be sure I didn't mess up, lol will do on my 8gb tomorrow..

(3/4 of the time spent doing this...was tracking down where the "supppppppper secret mod" was....**Facepalm**.. ) :D:D:eek::eek:
 
Since this is a branch of Hroark's kernel.. does his also have the ability for the secret mod... I want to try when my SD card arrives...

nope, This was branched from Hroark's kernel back in the Froyo days. Now, though built from his source, it does not behave the same as Hroark's anymore.

In fact, the thing I would most consider a Hroarkernel would be his CM7 built in kernel and this: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/500140-2-6-35-14-kernel-cm7.html

You could ask in that thread for it to be rolled into that kernel.
I know he built one that mounts the /sd-ext as /data (like kk1.2/1.3)
I don't know if he was interested in trying the SSM on CM7 since I think it can use the sdcard swap partition as extra ram
 
still want to try it..but really nervous...unless i did it right the last time and just freaked cause i forgot the sd card was formated in the process and lost everything
 
ok so follow the directions exactly and it will work? i did it the last time and freaked cause all the apps was gone..should i start with a clean install of everything??
install ctmod3.2
install kk2.2
then do the secret mod?

Do the SSM first, but keep in mind that it completely erases the sdcard, so you'll have to put the ctmod and kk installers back on it afterward

install root explorer apk and erase the dalvik-cache
do the secret mod?
then go in CWM and wipe the dalvik-cache again just for the heck of it...
reboot and you'll see the magic!!!

Edit: disregard all the blue remarks crap, Kouma's way it's better...

did mine like you posted coz I had already installed CTMod and the KK 2.0
and I was tired of the all process, but since you're starting from zero Kouma's prescription
it's way better...

LOL , That's where it threw me for a loop the first time I tried it . I was almost positive that I had done it right but I still wasn't seeing any change . It wasn't until I re-installed the KK 2.0 that I saw the changes . BAM !!! MAGIC !!! :D
 
z0mg, I went in and performed some dalvik-cache magic and did the erase with root explorer and then with CWM and found the SSM to be even MOAR magical than it previously was! Double magical goodness should be experienced by everyone!
