Root [Kernel][GB] KoumaKernel 2.5

i do have a fat and 2 ext4's even when you look in the backups it has 2 ext4's

so what i mean is had been on ssm then loaded 2.2 and went on data so should be able to go back to ssm? without re partitioning?

Yes , as long as you haven't repartitioned the card , the SSM should still work . I just got through restoring a CWM backup of the SSM and it took and is running great . That's the easiest way to get your set up back and that's the only way I've tried doing it .

I've learned to make a copy of each set up I run . It sure makes things a lot easier if you wanna return to that certain set up . :D

can i flash the OC kernel over the existing 2.2 kernal and not loose anything?

It's hard to say . All phones aren't the same and react differently . You just have to try it and see . Just make sure to do a backup first . If you lose your apps , just restore them with a CWM sd-ext restore .

well wil have to try and i make so many backups i have to make a log with dates so i know what is what and is the best incase something goes wrong and reinstalling the backup of ext will replace apps?

also the overclocking makes phone faster or internet connection faster?

I'm pretty sure that it overwrites the existing apps .

As for the overclocking and internet . Overclocking pretty much speeds up just about everything . It won't speed up the data coming to your phone but it will speed up the way your phone processes the data . ;)

yes but is that 2.2 or 2.2+ meaning there is an overclock 2.2 or just the 2.2 gb cwm version?

they have the same size in the download as each other???????

when i try to switch to ssm from data only have 16mb free so is not working. tried resets and reboots nothing!!!!! guess have to start from begging unless someone has an answer????? right now on 3.3 kk2.2 no ssm and want 3.3 kk2.2+ on ssm any way besides starting from scratch???

how or do i know if on 2.2+ doese it say anywhere?

You can go to settings, about phone and it will tell you if you have KK 2.. it wont tell you if its OC however.

If your gonna use OC, you need an app like CPU Master to overclock it and when you open that app.. if you can set your CPU to 900, not just to 800, you know OC is working. :D

well have that at 900 and just need to know how to get ssm working with where i'm at? meaning if go to ssm now only have 16mg of memory then restore back to now and now on data and have766mg used and 1.1 gb free and would like to be on ssm!!

so what i am asking is how do i go back to ssm without maybe having to start from scratch??????

pretty snappy now and stable but just think ssm would be better.

finally after two hours i got the kk2.2 working with the supersecretmod and OC...tho it seems my phone can handle only 800MHz max. my question is, is 800MHz worth the two hours of frustration lol

i don't know but mine is so fast but not on ssm now was before and don't know what the difference might be.

If you are on the KK 2.2 OC and having trouble going back to SSM , I would set the correct setting in the koumamod folder then use adb to reformat my card . Use Titanium to restore apps or CWM sd-ext restore .

If you are happy with the speed , stick with data2ext . It will give you a lot more space . ;)

I am using Voltage Control to set my CPU . It works nicely

I've got my min. set to 200MHz and Conservative . That does away with the lag when you wake the phone up . It will drain your battery faster but what the hell . LOL I've got three batteries and a car charger .

The safest setting is min. to 98MHz and On-Demand . :D

Wat is this over locked to

This is overclocked to 900MHz .

i sure am on the overclock at 900 but am on data and maybe ssm would be better don't know but when try to switch to ssm mem is way low and have to cwm back to a good of data and have been on ssm before with card done right and have not changed anything guess have to start from scratch to get back to ssm

Yeah , if you're getting low memory you'll probably have to . At least it won't take that long and you'll know that everything is correct since it's done from scratch .

LOL , I just Odined my phone back to stock EJ06 and gonna install CM7 with the OC kernel again from scratch . I'm gonna try the 944MHz kernel again and see if it will install .

why were having a problem before? a while ago i tried cm7 and had a problem with a2sdgui, said that was one of three problems so never went any farther with it.

I use S2E with CM7 . As a matter of fact , I'm working on installing it right now .
