Root [Kernel] Imoseyon LeanKernel 3.7.0

Saw it on Twitter but haven't taken the time to download or flash it. Scotty, where art thou?

Running it since this morning, seems good.

Although I didn't have any complaints battery wise on .12 either. Will know more once I calibrate and cycle.

I am getting about the same battery I did on .12 which isn't as good as .8 was to me  I want to get a new kernel to be my "go to" but I can't seem to find a kernel that works better than 3.5.8 for my phone.

What kernel had you guys been running with DT ROM's?

I've always been Imo or nothing. The last kernel I liked as much as any Imo kernel was Adrynalyne's Control Freak.

I have Tiamat's newest, which I haven't tried yet, and Drods Kang Bang saved but neither have been as good as Imo's historically IMO. Thinking about trying Tiamat for the hell of it after I let 3.6 settle for a few days.

I have been using 3.5.8 since it came out months ago. Nothing can touch it AFA battery/performance combo, IMO

Same here, I've tried a bunch even this one but 3.5.8 keeps pulling me back, it has spoiled my perception of battery life so anything less is not acceptable.

Well, still no need to go to any other kernels, then. Bummer, I was *REALLY* hoping that Imo would be improving on the 3.5.8. Sad day.

Honestly, I used to flash every kernel that he released and all were better than the previous. Not the case now. I think the fact that his main focus isn't the TB anymore has a lot to do with this. He's clearly not testing them as much (if at all) himself, resulting in less than adequate results

@ibrick: I think he adds the "any kernel" script.

@thats and worm: Yeah I keep hoping the new one will be better but each time I am let down. I am about to settle on the fact that 3.5.8 is the AOSP kernel for my bolt.

Ever since .11 and .12 I came to that conclusion. And the fact that he used to ask on Twitter or threads peoples opinions and doesn't do either anymore. I knew his kernels would be just ok. I'm just happy .8 is so great, I don't have to worry about constantly searching for something new. It's funny though, his "ok" kernels are still probably better than all the others out, IMO

Tiamat's newest with a 75 UV across the board on blacksourc3 2.1 is giving me the best battery life I have ever had. I am tempted to try Imo's newest, but it is going to be hard to beat my current set up. 3.5.8 was good for me, .10 and .12 were not.

Did you manually UV or is it UV by DT stock? I've been tempted to try UV but there is just too many slots on Tiamat's kernels

i did it myself. vipermod is baked into the included tiamat kernel so all you have to do is open a terminal emulator and type:

su
vipermod

then you will be given the option to UV by 25, 50, 75, or 100 across the board. you don't have to do it for each slot individually.

here's the battery life i am getting on tiamat's newest with the 75 UV running at 1497mHz/interactive. almost 14 hours on 4G and i'm still sitting at 13%. as you can see, wifi has only been on for about 5 minutes all day. i have been texting/browsing and watching youtube pretty heavily as well.

Edited to add: sorry if i am derailing this thread, but the question was asked at some point. i would also like to know if anyone is coming close to these numbers on another kernel. even on Imo's 3.5.8, 12 hours was pretty much the limit for me without using wifi.

I'll post my 3.6.0 battery screen later. My useage is very different than yours. What happened at 60% or so where your battery went up randomly?

Is that like the opposite of the battery dropping after a reboot?

Noticed that myself.

IDK, I'm liking 3.6.0 with the any kernel script on Shift 2.1, super smooth and fast. Battery is really early to tell. Haven't even wiped stats yet, but standby seems normal.

Also flashed tiamat and no vipermod in terminal emulator.. always had problems with that kernel. I swear it hates my phone..

Someone better start developing some quality kernels cause so far nothing is a suitable replacement for Imo's..

Agreed ibrick, someone needs to get into kernel dev again, I've never been able to get Tiamat's to run well on my phone, IMO's kernels are better but .8 is still the best for me. On 3.6.0 I am getting good standby but 4g use kills the battery faster than I think it should.

If tiamat's kernels gain battery on reboots I may have to switch anytime the battery gets low I'll just reboot 10 times or so wouldn't that be awesome?

In 2 days I am getting 4G in town, then I can tell you guys how my battery was. From 8 am to 12 Midnight I was at 53% battery life, 3 calls from the GF, lots of txts and some web browsing on 3G and WiFi. Imo's .8 kernel. ;)

I'm using Tiamat's on conservative and it's been running well for me today. I didn't realize vipermod was included thanks!

Battery use on 3.6.0 standby is great when using radio not so much...seems to want to keep my wifi on in 15% to 20% lower than normal
