Root [Kernel][Sense][HDMwIn]Evo 4g Freedom-v0.9.5 Kernel GB MR 2.6.35.10 - xda-developers

Running Synergy RLS1 w/ Godmode, I also lost wifi and 4g. Wifi continually scans and finds routers, but cannot connect and goes right back to scanning. Wimax keys are intact. Wiped cache & dalvik, reflashed, same result. Restored to stock kernel, all is well (other than cannot OC).

Edit: Correction, all is not well, Houston we have a problem. Wifi and 4g appear to be on indefinite vacation. Tried a full wipe and restore, no luck. Guess I'll have to wipe and flash another ROM next. On the plus side, I'm still a long way from throwing the phone off of a cliff.

Did you flash the GodMode kernel? When I was on RLS1+Godmode, I didn't have that issue

it could also be the kernel. not sure what it is with synergy and godmode but sometimes the kernel, even though you flashed the one for godmode kills it. try another kernel and see if that fixes the issue.

Wiped cache and dalvik, tried flashing chop suey kernel for Godmode, no help.
Wiped cache and dalvik, restored the nandroid with the stock kernel, no help.
Wiped cache and dalvik, reflashed the ROM, no luck.
Wiped everything (data, cache, dalvik, ext3), then ran VR superwipe, then restored the same nandroid. No wifi, no wimax.
Ran out of time, but later tonight I'll try wiping everything again and flashing either MikG or one of the Kingdom ROMs and hope for the best.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

Update: Still running SynergyRLS1+Godmode. 4g is back. I think I've been describing the wifi issue poorly. Wifi is not and has not been completely down. It scans, finds and reports available connections, but since flashing more freedom .85, it's no longer able to connect with any kernel. I still plan to wipe everything and flash superwipe, then flash another ROM. I guess subtlety and finesse have failed, time to try some brute force. Does anyone know if Virus Kingdom RLS1 employs Godmode?

Good news: Flashed r3chargeD Final, everything works. Thanks again to everyone for the help and happy ending.

First, I would try .9 from Chopsuey with GodMode kernel, then try lithid's recent update for the GodMode kernel and make sure that it's not a wifi issue

The 8/24 build from Virus does have GodMode;)

Thanks for the Virus tip, good to know.

Actually, it's kind of ironic: in the post you quoted, the first thing I tried was the Chopsuey Godmode kernel, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. Lithid's kernel is what sent my wifi on vacation in the first place.

All's well now, wiped everything, ran superwipe and flashed r3charged final. Everything works. The ROM gets very mediocre Quadrant scores, but it's anything but mediocre; plenty of available RAM, comes with Golden Monkey on board, ridiculously fast and smooth, much faster than Synergy (and I was very happy with Synergy). Not my favorite system font, but easy to mod.

Thanks for your help.

So on your suggestion I switched to interactiveX and it just lagged my phone down something fierce. I mean it was terrible. So I switched back to performance and everything is aok :) I still see no issue with battery power so all is well!

Although now I am at 1228mhz...I dont know why but that scares me :D

yeah anything over 1190 and my phone freaks out. that could be why you had lag on the inertactive x, maybe.

make sure you do not have it set on boot.

I had it on 1152 when I put it on interactiveX...I put it on 1228 after I switched back.

And yeah my phone lasted about 5 minutes before it told me to get bent! :p Fixed now and back to 1152 running smooth as silk :)

Reading the above I decided to test Mik2.52 with chopsuey kernel at higher cpu speeds. I took it up in steps from where I had it at 9something to 1190. Using the ondemand governor with a screen off profile

just keeps on rocking, noticeably faster. nice option to have but it would be interesting to see what it did to battery. Going to go ahead and lower it back down and retain that idea for when needed.

SO do not setup SetCPU to run at boot? So then each time you reboot your phone you need to manually run SetCPU?

no, only set on boot when you know your phone can handle overclocking at a certain level. for an exampe, if i want to see if my phone would go up to 1220 lets say. most likely for me my phone will seize up and might reboot. now if i had set it on boot i will most likely get a bootloop that is a pain to get out of. but if i uncheck set on boot and it reboots then it will set it to the default and all is good. i cannot go any higher then 1190.

Ahh OK thanks. Just wanted to make sure.

Beginning to wonder if I'm doing something wrong? I'm running Mik2.55 & Aggressive Freedom 0.9. I'd say my battery life is as good as or just barely, barely better than stock.

well my battery life improved also, not to the point that i get 3 days without a charge but you should have seen some improvements...try out this link and read up what others are doing to tweak their phones to get better battery life....

i posted on there how some of my settings are i have good battery life, try and set your settings how i have them and see how it goes....
thats the time and date in that link i posted my settings: October 5th, 2011, 12:37 PM

well if the aggressive freedom does not work for you then try the more freedom. give it a few days to decide if it is the one for you. if not then move to the freedom kernel and then finally the less freedom kernel. and yes your set up in setcpu will matter as well. what are your settings in setcpu?

I have to say, switching from Aggressive to More Freedom has been a good choice for me so far. I have it clocked to 1152 on Interactive X and there is zero lag at all. My phone would have been lagged to high heaven on Aggressive Freedom with these settings :)

Makes me wonder if my phone would be a little more snappy with the Less Freedom kernel. I'm overclocked to 1190 and it seems just as snappy as it does at 998MHz. I'm running the MikSupersonic rom with Sense 3.5 right now. It's smooth, but not as smooth as MikG. What I don't understand is that Lithid has all the overclock voltages set at stock, so the Aggressive/More/Less versions should all be the same for when you're overclocking, right?

I'm not running interactive X or setCPU. Am I doomed to stock battery life unless I'm willing to learn how to use those as well?

we are here to help. so did you flash this kernel? if you did, which one did you flash?

interactive x is just a governor which helps in the speed at which it revs up the cpu to the desired cpu speed that you set. it has a screen off profile as well.

with setcpu on the main screen you can set your governors which i would recommend either interactive x or smartass. and the tab at the top you can create profiles and how much priority to give them. if you choose to use ondemand then you should setup at least a screen off profile.

hope that helps answer some of your questions. if you have any though please feel free to ask.

Flashing ROM's and Kernels I understand, most of the rest of that is going to take a while to sink in.......

Yes, I have been running Mik2.55 w/ Aggressive Freedom 0.9 for about a week now, no other mods. All I did was flash the ROM, then flash the kernel, then run the phone. Haven't changed any settings, haven't downloaded any apps more significant than angry birds:eek:

Now if I and my Noobness understand correctly, the Aggressive kernel should save battery better than the More kernel.......because it 'Aggressively' undervolts the phone.....right??

All of that being true.......because these things are funny.....Simply flashing the 'More' kernel, or I was also looking at Chop Suey, might have the desired effect, right???

Thanks!
