LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

yeah, I remember this. Was hoping that you would change your mind and wait for G3 :)

Yeah, getting M8 basically free is nice.

I, on the other hand, got money to burn by not going to watch Barcelona - Atletico, $750 for 2 tickets. And am I glad I didn't go! :D Barcelona did not win.

How about M8 camera/cam?

I'll post a link when I get results up. I got a lot of great shots out of my last HTC and it wasn't as good - I can't wait to see what I'll get here.

The G3 was out of the running when I came to realize that I wanted to have the best sound. Everything flowed from that.

You may recall that I left when I made my HTC decision weeks ago and came back just to hang and enjoy the company. :)

I'm getting great reception and love the speakers, have already modded it 8 ways from Tuesday so I'm pretty happy. And I was able to cheap out and that was important. :D

Just my personal tradeoffs for what the G3 offers, yeah? It's always a compromise from where I stand. :)

Surprised about that contest value. In the past those were just for tax purposes and not the actual retail.
I have a "feeling" you'll get your hands on a G3 elite edition and you'll make it the most modified phone for you :).

Btw I forgot to ask you, the picture in your avatar. Is that strike for cowboy b. Or that is mugen from samurai Champloo?

From a "tech blog":

"while the only thing LG has to do is slap the same processor(805) in the already existing G3, and that's precisely what the premium LG phone is rumored to be."

Face, head, neck and torso palm.

Evidently, I'm the only one who believes that the Korean article I linked last week is real, where this thing was confirmed and explained directly by LG - no tipsters and mysterious further confirmation required.

Android makers have often upheld a history of two major releases per year.

They've all seen each other's round one for this year.

The new iPhone is coming early fall.

Samsung, HTC, and LG need to respond to that. A five or six months old model come Xmas going up against the newer iDevices is not what anyone would call smart planning.

US availability is and will be dictated by our wonderful carriers.

Put that together with your dart board and you'll get when. :)

I don't discount the article's validity. I believe there will be a second device which is why I'm waiting to hear more on that.

I'm just a little shocked that they are releasing the different chipset device only 45 days after the G3 launch (assuming the July 12 date is correct).

Also, I had some issues interpreting the page even after using Google translate. Did you find language in there that points to a US release of the new phone? That confirmation is primarily what I've been waiting on. Then after that, there will be carrier decisions I'd suppose.

Sometimes you have to decipher yourself the context of certain reports. In this case, in that media reports most of the statement has been according to LG. It's like I am giving a speech or message about something while journalists try to put it into their own words with the essence of what I have said. I'm sure you know that.

Quotes from both LG staffs comments give us an idea how are we to expect the devices. As he specifically comments about "overseas" as well.

Are we even certain that the 805 would be more efficient? I would rather have the 801 and a slight studder under load with better battery than a blazing 805 battery killer.

Ur tempting me with this m8. The girl in the bikini with the phone doesn't hurt the sales pitch :p

Got nothing on the "flexible" yet hot sexy LG G3 :), oh she handles toughness well and gives you the best reception so you receive the best signals to your nerves :). What else should I say? I guess she sees the "bigger" pictures of the scene.

Lolol

I had the M8 for a week and did not like it...and I'm an HTC guy. I tried to like it, but just couldn't. Went back to the DNA and all is good again.

In fact, a buddy of mine grabbed the M8 (he also had a DNA), and he misses his DNA every day. He 'tolerates' the M8, but I just can't bring myself to have a phone I only 'tolerate'.

What didn't you like, if you don't mind elaborating?

For those that want to hear more thoughts on M8 owners here is a nice thread.

Yeah, he asked that question in the SGS5 and M8 forums here, got opposite answers and then asked over there, same thing.

But thanks for sending people to XDA for us on something that you could have found here! :D :banghead:

What's DNA?

Verizon version of the HTC Butterfly (Japan), first phone ever to have 1080p.

Ohhh right!!, for some reason I keep thinking I'm in both android forums lol.

I miss the Gnex pre-release. It was hard keeping up with that thread..

I've been thinking of passing on the G3 and wait for the prime version or whatever other phone is announced to be released.
