LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Seems to me that Christian Today took the Verizon date and translated it to everything else. They even mentioned that Sprint had previously been "rumored" with a July 25 release date.

Evan (Ev) hasn't tweeted anything about other providers.

Now, for those on the fence with the G3, might want to consider the Z2, if you're on Verizon:

Verizon customers: your wait for the Sony XPERIA Z2 will not have been in vain. The delay, if you want to call it that, is due to the fact that a very specific variant, one that supports LTE-Advanced, must wind its way through the certification and t

What is the point of super fast data speed with a 2gb data cap? I do not see the cost dynamic that makes it appealing overall, since only a smaller and eroding fraction of users have unlimited data.

Is my perspective wrong?

Yep, you are looking at it from the consumer's side, look at it from Verizon's. You can blow through your data cap, and get to our outrageous fees faster than ever! :D

Totally get it. Your perspective is partly why I've never really considered Verizon, even when they had unlimited data. I was mainly pointing out an option for those peeps on here that are currently on Verizon. While there are certain things that can be accomplished with a small amount of data available to a consumer, it's just not for me.

Yup. Price is another reason I never really considered Verizon for mobile.

to tell you the truth, I have just 1.2GB/Mo on my T-mobile Galaxy, and it's quite enough for me. Once again, at home/office there is wifi/ethernet, so on the go not that much needed by me.

Wow, gottabemobile had to have read my post and stated the same thing I mentioned in this thread, regarding the timeframe of Sprint's giveaway deal, with respect to potential release:

LG G3 Release Date Rumors Continue to Emerge

Far stranger things have happened.

Our threads are often the source of rumor reports - sometimes credited and very often we're "the anonymous sources."

I am neither bragging nor making that up.

Simply stating a known fact.

Like, thank, bought the t-shirt, been there, done that. :p

I'm making doing some very basic editing with the unboxing video at the moment. I am waiting for a train at the moment, so I'll be using my G3's hotspot feature to upload the video, when I'm done, so it might be a couple of hours before it's done :/

Are any of the accessories available through your service provider, namely the QI-enabled back cover?
Those here that desire wireless charging seem to be evenly split on whether they like the Quick Circle Case.

Sources close to the factory claim to have information that one famous Android personality has embraced the new form factor for cotton garments.

"It's commemorative," he said, according to our tipster.

u still crack me up

I can definitely see how others can accomplish it.

What worried me the most, moving away from Sprint and losing unlimited data, is my work needs. Part of the job requires me downloading and viewing a lot of content. Unfortunately, I'm not high enough up the chain for them to give me a dedicated work phone, but still high enough for them to give me the okay for BYOD. That also means, they don't pay for anything...LOL. While I'm in the office and at home, I get on wifi anyway, but while I'm at lunch or if I get sent an urgent email while out and about, I could easily consume a lot more data than I typically would on a regular basis. That unpredictability was enough to scare me away from losing unlimited data.

I hear you.... with my next phone I'm going to lose unlimited data. Thankfully my work is going to kick me $ towards my bill and I get corp discount with VZW.

I'm surprised that if your work necessitates you using data that they don't contribute to your bill. Can you use it as a tax write off?

I guess I might as well answar the question in this thread as well :-)

The Nordic version has built in QI-wireless charging capabilities built in to the standard cover. We're also going to be able to buy the Quick-Circle covers. I am however not going to get one, as I am left-handed, and the QuickWindow cover for the G2 was made for right handed ppl, and I assume the Quick-circle cover is too.

- It's quite difficult to flip the front for me, using my left hand.

I am thankful for the corporate discount, which helps a lot.

Nail on the head. I don't necessarily get it all back, but the loss helps a lot.

Do they sell that back cover you have separately there?

Did I read it correctly that he got his times regarding battery life because he normally uses the phone at 0% brightness?
Again, due to the heavy weight of the display as far as performance and battery life, I expect battery life feedback to be even more overly subjective than normal. Best to compare to your own devices, use and network area.

I think that we're already seeing this in the different opinions of battery testing in the early reviews.

I changed it from threads to feedback, since will not just be dedicated threads. The common relation seems to be how you use the device, so the perspective has a big gap. It also indicates what reviews actually do tests weighting actual screen on time with a gpu load.

Added: Really really surprised now that still no Anandtech review.
