LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Well, I'm tired of waiting for the LG G3 so I'll get either the Samsung S5 or maybe even the LG G2, I would have got the HTC M8 in a heartbeat but the 4m rear camera is a huge h3ll-NO for me.

I recall it being different several weeks ago, but only knew of the change based on an XDA post mentioning the updated carrier specs.

About two weeks to find out if part of the concocted inception of news.

If I were "forced" into choosing from a 16GB with no 32GB option, I would choose the S5 every time. The chip has less to deal with using the 1080p display and "possible" for now to get root, via Towelroot. The display looks great, so no real loss from Qhd and more to gain as far as performance.

Wiz is as easy to kill with NOVA, even without root.

That said, my 32GB S4 trumps all them thar' wimpy wimpy wimpy 16GB devices :) ;)

Heck, I would wait for the new iPhones myself ;)

The A8 will probably be beastly. Shame about the iTunes ball and chain though :) ;)

I tolerate it with my Air :) That said, who knows what evil may await with Android 5.0......... aPlay????
 
Looks like about two more weeks of concocted news! IF the other carriers not Tmo announce only 2/16 models, this thread would lose lots of activity. Then again it would be closed soon after anyway, so no harm no foul :)

Fun ride, none the less! :)

Been thinking the same. While I was initially kind of turned away by the S5's debut with it being only a marginally bigger screen than the S4 and a couple other "meh" additions, it now seems to be a nice fit:

Good sized screen without being unwieldy, 1080p that's more battery friendly and looks great, dust and water resistant, TouchWiz can be overlooked with the addition of a launcher (Nova), replaceable battery, SD card slot, etc. As for the form, the G3 looks better, but I'll have it in a case regardless as the firehouse can be rough on unprotected phones.

C'mon G3, make your appearance so I can compare and make this decision.
 
Meanwhile, we're over defeating jpg compression and taking raw image photos with the M8.

Although everyone who hates the camera complains about resolution had never actually seen dots on the camera, all they've ever seen is jpg compression. That can be changed - a lot.

Nonetheless - it's the dots. :)

Anyway, yeah, it's really terrible. Horrible. Colorful. Nice. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. :rofl:

Bah, the media/political mantra is to blame Buuuuuuussshh :)

I am an equal opportunity blamer though, since find almost all politicians narcissists and would not trust hardly any of them as far as I can could throw them. I have a bad shoulder right now, so that would not be too far :)

I blame the carriers as far as 2/16 and their mean (average) approach to install base management. Price point is key and then the accessory sales that drive margin. These 10GB free devices will have increased customer angst with ART and 5.0.

Still hoping a slim chance of 3/32 on-line orders. Or, we get surprised and we all get 3/32 models offered by carriers :)

BTW, Best Buy dude is even more confident in the 3/32 temporary exclusivity with Tmo. Sad thing is the carriers probably would not bother with 3/32 models after the launch window inertia subsides. They will then have their sight focused on "Primes" and new iPhones ;) :)

I blame Buuuuuusssshh if the "Primes" also are 2/16 ;) :)
 
If I were to pass on the G3 I don't know what I would turn to instead?

Samsung = Apple; they can both go kick rocks

HTC M8, I still have a bad taste in my mouth over the Incredible and Thunderbolt...9 replacements between the two. But those speakers...
 
Samsung sill has to be a pass for me, the cell radio being famously at the weaker end. Otherwise the active version sounds like a neat device.
