You'd be hard-pressed to get any extras as standard issue vs a promotional program w/any phone these days.
I've bought five phones from T-MOBILE since APRIL 2013 & all of them shipped w/the bare essentials:
Handset/USB Cord & plug/one battery if applicable.
Even more bare boned is the MOTO G GPE,which ships from GOOGLE w/just the handset,USB Cable & NO PLUG.
Interesting.... is this just T-mo or a larger trend? My VZdub M8 came with headphones?
But you did get headphones with mic with your M8, yes?
I'll double-check when I get home this evening.
I'm positive about the G2/G3/MOTO G GPE,just the essentials.
The headphones/earbuds I can do without,I never use corded ones anyway.
To take that notion to another level,I'm looking forward to a Project Ara type of phone (provided it doesn't look like a LEGO/TINKERTOY hybrid),I can do without some of the hardware that's on most flagship phones.
(Lose NFC & 3.5mm jack & give me a TV/FM antenna in its place).
BAM!

Wait - you picked up a G3 and rooted it?
Or you're just reporting that jcase did?
Key word is "some" though. I would prefer a priority of efficient panels and then SoCs. That said, different companies driving the tech so maybe all coming together soonish. A big win IMO if Samsung releases more power efficient panels with the 805 devices this year.
Wonder when we will see the first 20nm with a second gen Qhd panel? I also wonder how efficient can they really be, since still dealing with the analog physics of light and the need for lumen output. This requires energy and electrical physics law adherence.
Get in mind that in the near future battery performance will be golden, so it's okay to have power hungry SoC.
I wonder what happened to this little girl invention of charging your cell phone battery in seconds.

You are a perfect candidate for the G3 and it's a great update from the S3Hey everyone, I am not trying to hijack the thread but I have a question. I am looking to get this phone, still on a Galaxy S3. My primary use for the phone is for Trading using TOS mobile, TD Ameritrade and Dough applications. Hopefully the bigger brighter screen with more memory will make that an enjoyable experience. anyone else trade stock or options on there mobile phone?
I have a line on my account that is available for an upgrade but does not have data. Can I use that line for the upgrade select the 2gig plan, get the phone then put the phone on my line with the unlimited data? Then I would cancel the data plan off the other line and put the other basic phone back on it. If someone would let me know if that is any easy task please chime in.
Hopefully she realized her dream, is attending Harvard and has learned her lesson about never again speaking to reporters from the Crash News Network whose sensational headlines don't match reality at all. (The comments there explain what she really did and what was impressive about it.)
As for not caring about SoC power consumption in the future, welcome to thermodynamics where you can't win, you can't break even, and you can't leave the game. It's true that you may not have to worry about power consumption if we get better power sources and it's equally true that that is going to lead to hotter SoCs. TANSTAAFL
This may be important, or may be totally irrelevant, but may want to read (or at least scan since it's HUGE) this thread:
Permanent Screen Damage Thread - XDA Forum
My G2 has succumbed to it. Have 3 lines on the right side of the display that aren't going away. It's looking to be hardware related and not so much ROM related (excessive heating).
Like I said, may never affect the G3 but gives me pause about buying another phone from LG as it's never happened to any other phone I've owned.
Excessive heat is bad for displays.
Excessive heat is bad for displays.
A very practical litmus for the G3. If the display does get hot a lot, even the potential "deniers" would see for themselves (if a lot of screen on time). The 805 would not help here, but a more power efficient display would.
I know this is an extremely early report, but does this take the wind out of your sails?

I have the G3 pre-ordered at VZW.
I keep on telling you people, but no one listens to my genius. NucUler powered cellphones. Go ahead and patent it, I don't need the money.
