Early,

Here's the deal with Odin. Without Odin, there'd be no Thor. Without any Thor, there'd be no Marvel comics. Without the Marvel Comics, there'd be no Marvel's Agents of Shield. Nnnnnooooooooooow do you get it? :p

If I remember the Scandinavian mythology correctly, it was Odin who hanged himself on the tree..not sure I wanna see this happening to my phone too often:D

Soooo.... I've been traveling the better part of this week and have been lurking from the road. I've had time to rationalize the news of the 801 and have come to the conclusion that IF the G3 has a removable bat and SD card slot that I'm likely to buy it even with the 801.

That said... while the 801 isn't a deal breaker, I'll likely wait for some reviews before buying.

And..... Nice to see you here EM!

Uh oh. Yankees lost.

Well Steven - the G3 is coming anyhow. :p

Meanwhile, looks like Pantech is finally upping their game as well. Visit the youtube link for specs (screen is 1080p SAMOLED).

Double tap is great. For best results, hit the same spot. I've had the G2 for about a month and I think I've used the back power button once and maybe the back volume button twice.

The sweet spot for my g2 was always in the dead center, sometimes anywhere else, give or take if it works or not.

Yes, expect the new "Knock Code" feature, which in addition to the wake/sleep of Knock On, allows you to actually both wake up and unlock your phone with a series of taps on the quadrants that you define. Security-wise, with use of a more convenient shorter series of taps, I'd say it's good enough to deter a random intruder, but I wouldn't depend on it if you truly have very sensitive information on your phone. With that said, the more sensitive information I have on my phone (access to a cloud account) is itself password-protected, so I'm fairly comfortable using a lower security phone unlock method out of convenience.

If I buy anything other than a G3, its going to get a lot of needless screen taps until I can deprogram myself. I've grown very used to that feature.

I had an M8 for a week, and it had the knock on/off feature as well. However, what I found easier was the ability to swipe up anywhere on the screen to wake the phone. On the M8, at least, that was a more reliable way to wake it. Hopefully the G3's knock on will work better than it did on the M8 and, from what owners reported in the forums, the G2.

On regards to the flip cover, one rumor had you had to buy the flip cover to get wireless charging. Although that's probably only until 3rd party gets in action I imagine.

Did everyone see this already?

Selling the size:

LG: Are you ready to meet?

Me: yyyyyup.

Their wording is really vague. Hard to tell if it provides the function of simply allows it to work. (Spoiler alert - the case isn't metal.)

Now this is interesting and I don't usually care about wireless charging -

As I've had a kickstand for 3 of the last 4 years, I don't know how those that don't cope without it. I couldn't.

I'd even go with the peek-a-boo case to use that charging dock if I had to.

Which brings me to how unimpressed I am with the new iOS look (that began with Android, that's a joke so keep your shirts on) and I'm trying to imagine not going straight to Nova etc etc etc.

Which leads me to say in my best Edward G. Robinson voice, "Yeah? Where's your big circle now, see. Yeah."

Although that's probably a separate lock screen function.

It's not that I didn't think, I just felt like posting something here. :D

I just discovered that the G2 has a built-in FM radio (very important, I don't intend to lose that after 4 years) and the built-in media software looks decent as well.

I guess that just leaves camera, speaker phone, and battery performance - and - call quality.

No conversation view in the email app?

Really LG? Really?

And no Exchange ActiveSync support?

That's a problem with most email clients and could be a big deal for me. :(

LOL...Venture over to the car forums and the first thing that many people do is remove the dealer paper and license plate frame that's been placed on the vehicle. Thing is, from what I've been told, CA law requires something to be on the back plate area, even if it's just a blank sheet of paper...hahaha.
Although I haven't joined in until now, kudos for a great discussion regarding the G3.

When it comes to aesthetics, I too run without a front license plate on my cars, but it's becoming less practical due to traffic cameras and police crackdowns. I run a thin silver or matt black frame in the rear and reverse the dealers plastic insert which is solid blank white on the back. So far I've been lucky to not be cited for no front plate.

Conversely my brothers been written up by the CHP three times just this year.

Considering we both commute to the same destination 60 miles away, but at different times, I'm now considering caving in and mounting one just to save the trouble of dealing with a fix-it ticket.

To the G3, while I would also like an 805 I'm so keen on the rest of it I'll most likely just buy one either way. :)

EM, wireless charging is pretty darn awesome, when not needing a quick charge. Since I have had the Note 3 and wireless charging, i rarely plug my phone in (unless I am backing up files).

LG came out with another wireless charging stand that is way overpriced, so I hope this one is more reasonable.

Tylt VU is my favorite of them all, with a close second being my 10kmah battery backup with qi charging pad.
