It's already claimed by LG, so yea.Whoa whoa WHOA! Stop the clock. Are we believing for certain that the 805 is happening? Between the snark and sarcasm, I can't always tell. I have a very hard time allowing myself to buy into this.
There were no 805 issues and the MDM 9635 is new.

I know that you and a lot of people want replacing those components to be as simple as as changing colored Legos but it's just not.
Radio frequency motherboards are not trivial. Up the frequencies, up the data transfer rates and it requires a whole new board design so that your device doesn't fail due to parasitic effects creating sneak circuits thanks to the magic of alternating current creating rotating magnetic fields that in turn translate into other alternating currents on other wires where they don't belong.
I was just trying to help by pointing out that the big feature of another rumored Prime is LTE-Advanced.
Oddly enough, many people in the cell phone industry think that LTE-Advanced is somehow more important than the best possible GPU experience.
I have no idea how they got into their heads that it might be a good idea to combine the two or how they could possibly think that LTE-Advanced is a good idea when we don't have it yet.
(If you think I didn't see what I just did there, ok.)
Of course, I could be wrong and the whole interview with LG could be a hoax.
Btw - really surprised that no one has zeroed in on the fact that the new T-Mobile G3 is going to have the 805 and 4/64 for only $75 more than the 3/32 model. It's getting announced 9 days after the main one, and available for immediate delivery on that day.
To give it a better idea instead of sources this will give you an illustration.- first, how do you know, if I may ask?
- second, initial cost for R&D of putting in a new chip w/new architecture is quite high and should be taken into consideration;
- third, cost does not have much to do with the version/pricing/naming conventions. It is quite possible that LG pays less for 805 to QUALCOMM than for 801.

$screw all this! I'm goin' back to my NGage, y'all! I'm a going back to taco calling and ain't evah' lookin' back.
What the.... !
hey, look who is here!
Are you upset, Steven?
LG G3 with Snapdragon 805 chip launching next month?
why does this guy want a metal body?

This is the biggest no-brainer I've stumbled across in a long time (if true!). QHD and 805..........very future proof. I couldn't really care less about the cost if in the realm of reality. Now more than ever, get this thing in my grubby hands. Stop playing with me LG and deliver the dang goods.
Eh boy this prime stuff is like an epidemic. There's always a prime, it's called the next device. The G3 was the G2's prime.
I don't know. I don't want a metal body. I don't even like the brushed metal look. I'd rather have simple matte plastic that doesn't feel slippery in hand. Give it a little bit of a raised edge around the glass and I'd gladly go caseless.
This will be my future proof until next lg silver 810 SoC
My friend's cousin has an uncle that works for LG. He said that in September they are releasing the G3 Opus. It will have a super secret 900 chip, 4K screen(5.5"), 7,000mah battery(removable), 8gb RAM, 1tb of storage, 2 lasers (one for photos and one for engraving), water and dust proof, iris scanner, NFC, wireless charging, stylus, IR, and will skip Android 5.0 and go straight to 6.0 a.k.a Whatchamacallit. It will also project up to an 165" screen on any surface in 4k and 3D. Price point is only $1,000US.

Ditto. I like plastic too, but consumers generally are shallow creatures. Metal looks cool! Oblivious of weaker signal and more chances for cracked screens from drops
The Prime would release out of the launch window of the G3 and then the G3 positioned as the value version
