Well im a pro at android and flashing as well as others, but for a new person that has been introduce to cm team, they wouldn't know where to look and thats where we come in at. I'm pretty sure we all been there and ask questions and peoples had pointed us into the direction to where we can find it.

I have no problem in taking my own time finding some links and or linking them to the place, that way they can bookmark it and be ready to watch that page for future updates and so on. But lets all play nice with each other to make this community better than what it is.

Updated to newest nightly using the built in updater. It's really cool how it installs and wipes cache on it's own. This ROM is great

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

What are Nightly build ? : auto compile build from the CyanogenMod github, each time there are new corrections on it.
This version change each night, and aren't support officialy, if you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here.


There are no Google Apps bundled with CM ROMs, because Google asked Cyanogen to remove copyrighted apps from his roms,
after flashing rom don't forget to flash Google Addon package if you want it.

Instructions:

First time flashing CyanogenMod 10 your device, or coming from another ROM?
  1. Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
  2. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
  3. Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
  4. Perform a factory reset.
  5. Flash CyanogenMod.
  6. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

Experience issues? Please provide the following info to our bug tracker:
  • If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
  • If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
  • Please use Pastebin when possible.

I can't download the gapps from the provided link
It just keeps redirecting to itself, making me wait 10 seconds, then try to get the file, then redirect to itself, make me wait 10 seconds, then try to get the file or provide a link to click and download directly, than (no matter which choice I make, wait or click) redirect to itself, make me wait 10 seconds, then try to get the file...

You get the picture...
Any body has a nice link for me I could use? :D

I downloaded mines from Romtoolbox pro but I think this one should work too. I also have that problem when downloading form gooim site.

Links I provided are the recommend files. Most the time when new gapps are released they dont get officially linked much to make sure they all work good etc etc etc, before posting. ;)
 
your link is the one i considered the newer version
I just couldn't get to goo.im to download it, so arti sent me a link to a build from late august...
that is all. ;)
 
everyone should use the goo manager app. it prompts when new updates are available, its going open source soon. the goo.im guys provide an amazing service for the community (so much ive donated to them 3 times). sides being on the goo manager app you might find random new roms to use when people upload em

Yeah I saw a blackbean rom from you on there but didn't know what to make of it. Dare I try and flash?
 
Hey guys, everyone seems to be aware that things got a little heated and there was a little unnecessary "back and forth" here (those posts have been deleted--I think I got 'em all--will double-check--yep, missed a few ;) :)).

Anyone know if it's possible to get the TouchWiz camera on this ROM? I don't really like the stock one or any on the market. 360 seems good but there's no video recording
