Yes, the flash and torch both work.Does the flash work with the April 3rd release? That's the only thing holding me back.
Sweet! I'll flash this tonight. I can't wait to drop Virgin Mobile and switch to Cricket.Yes, the flash and torch both work.
The supported cam?they work if u have the supported cam
There are actually two different cameras that the f6 has and which one yours has determines whether your main camera and flash will work or not. An easy way to tell is to turn off your f6 and pull out the battery. Look at the sticker inside the battery compartment. If you see s/w: v10i then your camera will work. If you see s/w: v12b then it won't work. This is for the metropcs version. I'm not sure about the T-Mobile f6.The supported cam?
If lg has built anything having to do with kitkat for the f6 d500/ms500 ( this is a VERY BIG if ) it would probably be unfinished/incomplete and its almost certain that they will never release anything new for this phone. They have stopped making the f6 and they want you to buy a new phone. If they released kitkat for the f6 it would cost them money in two ways. Not only would they have to pay developers to port kitkat to the f6 but it would also hurt the sales of their other devices because many people would be waiting longer to replace their f6.Oh dammit, of course I'd have the version that doesn't work Guess I'll be sticking with Xperion. Will flash support ever be possible, or not unless LG decides to release some drivers/source?
The only way to do it is 2 completely diff builds. Supported can using kitkat blobs and kernel. And unsupported can using jb blobs and kernel + camera wrapper.. Because 4.1.2 uses old ion api's and 4.2+ uses new ion api's .. Ion handles the way memeory is allocated .. So the 4.1 blobs would support both cams. But use old kernel and old blobs for everythingIf lg has built anything having to do with kitkat for the f6 d500/ms500 ( this is a VERY BIG if ) it would probably be unfinished/incomplete and its almost certain that they will never release anything new for this phone. The devs here could probably figure out a better fix for the camera and flash but it would take an immense amount of time and effort and they have jobs, families, and personal lives. I wouldn't write off the possibility of a fix being found but you won't see me holding my breath waiting either.
The f6 I have now is my fourth one. I've had two that had the unsupported camera and two that have the camera that works with kitkat. My last f6 had the unsupported camera so I traded phones with my brother in order to get the right one for kitkat. Maybe this is an option for you if you know someone who has an f6 and doesn't care about rooting & flashing roms.
Just saying...Lol whatever u say DM
On top of that, Qualcomm has changed their camera interface from QCamera to QCamera2 (probably to change to the new ION API's like you said). That makes it even harder to take a binary blob from another device. The only way to do it is 2 completely diff builds. Supported can using kitkat blobs and kernel.
