Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

Hello! I just upgraded to the TWRP recovery and flashed the new xperion update, now i am getting a 'Package file is invalid' error when trying download or update apps from Google play. It also vwouldn't install my synched apps though my Google account. Reflashed twice, wiped davlik / caches same errors. I only had CWM backups on my SD card so i formatted it, not that it would help with TWRP anyway. Wasn't sure if anyone else experience this issue, didn't see it referenced anywhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
I was able to work around the invalid package file error using hotspot shield to hide my vpn as suggested in some other posts, but it's slow and a pain. I also noticed that i am unable to completely remove the stock email client and replace solely with gmail which I'm pretty sure i was able to do before. Using the most recent TWRP version i was able to successfully partition the SD card, however i get a mount script error trying to run link2sd. I must've scrambled something real good flashing the new recovery would be my guess. The ROM seems great tho, even more improved. I'm posting all this in case someone else comes across these issues, tho i seem to be the only one. I feel like it's somehow all connected and prob an easy fix, like some stupid setting somewhere, but I'm stuck. Later today I'm gonna factory restore 12b per game theorys instructions and reconfigure fresh with TWRP and Xperion. I will post an update.
 
I was wondering if there was a way to flash it have it install to SD,....

to bypass insufficient storage errors....

Or i wouldn't have asked. ..i know how to install apk files.

Why hasn't anyone attempted to create a type of frontend app to force apps to install on SD?

Is that even a possibility?

That would or might solve a lot of issues with LG's SD card predicaments...and make life with mistakes of future "official" ANDROID builds ..more enjoyable.....

You can have all the apps installed that your SDcard can hold ...despite the fact that thephone maker or ROM creater crippled that ability with "security"measures...

Is google turning into microsoft?...,
 
I finally changed the color on the 4g icon using ninjamorph...its actually on lgsystemui...pretty simple...I've always preferred green

Hello, I've tried flashing this rom three times already and I had to reset the phone through the LG service tool. I have an optimus f6 metro pcs and 12b firmware. I try flashing it and it says installation aborted". Any help would be good thanks

You asked the same question in the other thread and I told you to install TWRP recovery. Head on over to this next thread to install it then you can install the rom...

I do want to be clear though, I don't want anyone posting my kernel modded in any way cause that would most likely just piss me off.

Hus this was not directed at you, just saying in general for anyone that uses that guide.

I added a note to that guide for people not to post a modified version of your kernel

You can use the mod in your kernel if you like, that is why I posted the guide

it is up to you, its your kernel

If you want me too, I will re-write that tut using just the plain stock kernel

This ROM has NO lag or bug.
If I want to delete one of the apps in this rom and put another one, which folder should I edit ?
 
Would you please add some features to change the status bar? (e.x: removing the antena bar and simcard icons when there is no simcard, change the battery icon, time, remove alarm icon,.... )

Sorry, but I like my rom the way it is and looks. You can always try another rom if you're not satisfied with mine.

ROM Updated

Changes:
  • Added AOSP lockscreen and disabled stock lockscreen
  • Added Android L keyboard (Go to keyboard settings/Advanced/Color scheme/Material)
  • Added Cyanogen weather widget (Chronus - use the flex widget)
  • Changed blue accents in Camera & the icon to google camera icon
  • Added google icon in settings menu for accounts & sync like aosp
Follow the same install instructions that are already listed.

NOTE:
AOSP lockscreen is way better than stock so I disabled stock lockscreen completely and it will never work again in this rom. If you do not like AOSP lockscreen, do not update.

Apollo and Netflix lockscreen controls are pretty awesome, netflix especially when using chromecast.

No dirty flash.

  1. Backup call logs, messages, and settings with LG Backup.
  2. Backup user apps with Titanium Backup.
  3. Install ROM update then restore the above. Boom! Done!

I don't use live effect and I believe that's bloatware I remove.

I posted screenshots of Apollo music player and Netflix lockscreen controls. All screenshots are up on my website.
