Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

GT im a big noob in coding so i was wondering were can i learn to make .lok files to patch boot?

For loki go HERE and follow the instructions towards the bottom of the page. As for everything I know, I learned it over the years through trial & error and research.

Ok guys lets get this thread back on topic. ;)

Thanks for your help, guys. GT, I did what you wrote but info on swapper2 gives me a swapiness of only 10.

I tested it on my phone and it shows 80. Anyways start a new thread and you and BBeta can troubleshoot this swappiness thing there since its outside the scope of this thread.

Here is an init.d script I wrote to increase swappiness value to 80

Instructions:
  1. Download my script and place it in /system/etc/init.d
  2. Change the script permissions to rwx rwx rwx
  3. Reboot your phone. That's it!
Download

i changed the swappiness to 80 but it doesnt seem stick, after a reboot it goes back to 60

Make sure if it has the ( .txt ) at the end u rename it with out it. And the permissions are 777 ( rwxrwxrwx )

It doesn't have the ".txt" at the end. It's an init script I made for swappiness. Unless winblows adds the ".txt" at the end. Anyways I removed the link and deleted the post so that it's moved to another thread.

I think that when i downloaded i opened it on wps first to check the script.. So the .txt it may have been added.. By app... Anyways.. Vits working Great for me...
No problem i will make sure to look for it to redirect ppl to it... Thanks ...

[I just woke up this morning to a blank screen on my phone even though it was powered up. The blank screen did not respond to any key or screen touch. I held the power button down to power it down and then held it in to power it up]

I can't get past the Xperion boot logo. I have tried removing the battery and putting back in again. "Xperion_ROM_f6_12b_6-5-2014.zip" is the version of the ROM I have been using. I am also using Links2SD. And, I have a 32GB Micro SD Card installed. What should I try first?

EDIT: I tried removing the SD card and was able to get the phone to boot up. But, because I have been using Link2SD [using the SD card for all kinds of app storage, etc.], I have all kinds of issues. Google Play Services, error message, pops up, "App is not installed" error messages, [for example]. When I put the SD card back in, the phone can't get past the boot logo. NOTE: I put the SD card in my card reader on my laptop and was able to access it with no issues. Does this mean that the SD card is OK? And, that something else is to blame in combination with the SD Card?

EDIT: I used this, http://androidforums.com/threads/metropcs-guide-using-kdz-to-get-back-to-ms50010i-firmware.843494/, to get back to the original firmware. Next, I held the vol -/+ buttons and pressed the power button to erase. I'm not sure if I did this in the right order? Next, I installed the SD card. The phone is able to power up/down with this installed. I'm not sure what happened in the beginning of this. But, everything seems to be OK now. I am ready to root, install TWRP, and flash the latest ROM?

As described in my last post, I used KDZ to get back to the 12b firmware. It seemed to work. I installed TWRP. Rebooted into Recovery and used the default wipe - the swipe at the bottom. I then flashed your latest ROM. I am still getting the Xperion logo at boot and it goes no further [removing battery does not help]. Do you have advice going forward? I thought I followed all of the instructions as best I could.

EDIT: When I attempt to flash the ROM, there are a bunch of "unable"'s:
Unable to mount '/data'
Unable to recreate /date/media folder
Unable to mount '/data'
Unable to mount internal storage
...
the list goes on. I this normal? I have had very little trouble installing your ROM(s) in the past. Also, the KDZ seemed to be successful, I had a bootable, working phone. What am I missing here?

Nah I don't really have any suggestions aside from what you've already done. Download the rom again over a good internet connection in case you got a bad download the first time. The rom installs and works fine and that I'm very sure of.

[I downloaded the ROM again directly to the SD card. I have to provide the log by hand]
Installing ROM
Applying SymLinks
SymLink: some SymLinks failed
Error executing updater binary in zip
Error flashing zip
Updating partition details
Unable to mount '/data'
Unable to mount internal storage
Failed.

Could this have anything to do with root access?

EDIT: I am getting a "Failed" from the Factory Reset as well.
