Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

@@@Gametheory.
It has been about a month, So far is running smoothly.
No kernel, on SD.Mod.
But i hav a ..?.. which is the signal radio that you used.(12B ) how can i do to flash 10i radio cus i think reception was a lot better in my area.

You'll have to kdz back to 10i and find the radio partition and pull it then upgrade back to 12b and flash the 10i radio partition.

That's a waste of time and not worth it if you ask me lol.

Maybe they're just working on the network in your area.

hey,
I am looking for a quick EASY way to root my wife's new F6 with the OTA 12b
I am honestly just tired of reading thread after thread with names of roms that have no meaning to me. The lets-get-drunk-partyrom.dbz,etc,etc,etc
Is there a ONE CLICK root?
Can I use ODIN?
Name of the file,etc,etc
just simple step by step instructions
I would appreciate it
thanks
philmiami

Sorry this is the wrong thread for root. Visit the following link and follow the 12b root guide, any questions post them there and we'll try to help you...

For 12b there is no one click root and odin is for Samsung not LG.

ROM Updated

Changes:
  • Updated Apollo music player with new features and bug fixes.
  • Changed recovery menu in settings to work with pressy4pie's cwm recovery (must have his recovery installed to use this feature).
  • Adjusted wifi calling icon color.
  • Replaced Root Browser with Power File Manager (ad free, black or white theme, light and fast).
  • 3rd party apps from play store will now use their own background and xperion bg only for system settings and apps.
  • Updated Nova to new version with "OK Google" voice command.
  • Added Xposed and GravityBox for transparent status bar and other tweaks.
  • Also added new flashable system backgrounds
  • Debloated a little more.

Instructions:
  1. Follow the full rom installation instructions, steps 1 through 9 with step 10 being optional.
  2. If you have any internal to external SD mod or link2sd setup, you'll have to redo it after updating the rom.

As a reminder, I maintain a dated change log in post #2

So, as with any ROM, "Step 4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset" will wipe any apps you have installed? i.e. After flashing, if you want "Freedom Kernel", you need to flash it "again"? As for Link2SD, it's probably better if you "unlink" everything first? I'm just trying to get my mindset before going forward...

EDIT: One idea: Reformat the EXT partition? If you're going to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" anyway, this will break all links? So, just reformat it?

EDIT2: Ah, I enjoy these silent moments! :)

Oi... wasn't expecting a full rom update. I'll tackle this tomorrow, since I want to back up everything. So excited!

Hello GT,

Can you make a version of this rom for 10i firmware?
I cannot see any real advantage on update to 12b.

Thanks in advance.

I've been trying to figure out the best way to prepare concerning Link2SD. This text from this link FAQ - Link2SD:

Q. What exactly does "Clean up the 2nd partition" do?
"Clean up the 2nd partition" function scans the second partition (/data/sdext2 directory) and finds the apk and dex files that are not associated with any apps (i.e. garbage files). When finished, shows the files it found and asks for confirmation to delete them. It doesn't delete anything without your permission.

Does this seem like part of a better approach than simply reformatting the EXT partition?

I had Link2SD on stock, and didn't reformat it when I went to this ROM. Just let the app do it's thing. There was a few hiccups (don't remember exactly), but I had backed up all app data with Titanium Backup to my External SD card "storage" partition.

Is there a way to hide the Xperion background? I like consistency across all apps and I was able to hide it with GravityBox but not anymore with new update.

If gravitybox can't do it then you might have to find another xposed module that can.

[Installation successful! This update is about 435 MB and the previous version is about 541 MB. "Debloated a little more", whaaa?? What the hell did you pull outta dere?? :D ]

Having recovery menu [for Loki] is nice! And, Power File Manager seems much better than Root Browser. [I use Total Commander which I really love and it's free!] :)

New Xperion System Backgrounds

Backgrounds:
  • Xgroove
  • Xnex
  • Xwhite
  • Xperion Original
  • Boring Stock White (lol)

Instructions:
  1. Very simple, you just flash the desired zip. That's it.

Go to the first post in this thread and in the download section look for "Xperion System Backgrounds". Click the link for screenshots, details, and download links. Don't forget to read read read!

Note:
You must be on the latest version of Xperion rom.

;)

Is there anything in this ROM that automatically adjusts display brightness in reaction to ambient light? [I used an app, Lux, that did this. But, when I installed it, it reported that there was no light sensor in this phone.]

Does anyone know how to get the status bar transparent using gravity box? I was able to set the lockscreen but not the launcher. Thanks in advance

Under transparency management like you did for lockscreen. Set to 100. There's an xposed module called Tinted Status Bar that will let you use it with any app but I don't like when it loads it displays it as black then changes to adjust to apps color.
