So the same reasons the previous government started it all! Lol

Personally I think it's more a move with the times than anything else, the same sentiments have happened throughout history, the only difference now is the advance in technology makes it easier in many ways to collect and store more accurate information!
 
The problem is, now they're collecting info on everyone. More Americans have been prosecuted with provisions from the patriot act than any "terrorist"

I never said it was this administration that started it. It is just this administration that openly targets Christians, patriots, veterans, gun owners, anyone that wants smaller government or more liberty, etc
 
Does anyone believe anything he says anymore?
I liked hearing him talking about tyranny and "ignore those voices." Made me feel more confident in the government. Like, they aren't wiping their arse with the bill of rights, and making more enemies across the globe.

You know, almost every country you go to, they hate Americans. It's not Americans fault, it's our government that goes around ruining our image.

Actually they hate our government, not us. I love seeing the signs from the Egypt protest that they hate the administration, but love Americans. We have been on a path toward tyranny for the last few decades, lately it has just been really accelerated, especially with the police state. I wish every time a police officer was caught breaking the law on video, unlawfully detaining someone, performing illegal searches, murdering someone, etc that they would be sued. But not for money, they should receive a judgement that the officer can never again work in law enforcement. That is the only way these thugs will ever stop. If that was really happening now, Boston wouldn't have a police department at all after they put an entire city under martial law and treated every innocent citizen like a criminal.

There are three reforms that need to be made before we can make any progress.

1. Legal reform, the justice system needs to be cleaned up and reformed.
2. Term limits on all congressmen and senators. This ensures that the congressmen and senators are not looking for reelection but for the benefit of their constituants. They can focus on doing the right thing without fear of facing another election year.
3. Pay based on the average income of the district they represent with the top 20% of the highest incomes thrown out of the average.

And lets not forget the press and bloggers.

They often (often=always) have it wrong and no good man or woman really wants to go through the procto administered by the IRS as well as a boat load of left-wingers out to derail them.

I mean the vetting.

No, I mean the inqusition.

I would never make it. Forget my election, it would never happen. and I know how to do a better job than those in power. As do many of you, I suspect.
 
Oh, and the other reform I would do is take away the money = elections system. Make it so that people like Joe the plumber, Steve the mechanic, or Igor the butcher could run for election. The American Republic was based on government of the people, for the people, and by the people. It doesn't seem like the government truly represents the people anymore.
 
Oh yeah, so what you're suggesting is a system where the people with the money don't buy their politicians by funding their campaigns, or threatening them to vote a certain way or else they'll run a smear campaign against them and fund their competitor's campaign?
Well that will never happen because the little guy like you or me don't donate millions to the people who are in office that would be able to make that law.
It's called plutocracy. It's sickening. It's how these multi-billion dollar industries get tax breaks for themselves, corporate welfare, simple bankruptcy rules, and bailouts. Because they're rich and they get to make the rules.
I bet you some defense contractor helped get the FISA Amendments Act passed by lobbying congress.

It'd be impossible to wipe it out completely but it doesn't have to be as bad as you guys currently have it!
 
They tried to limit the amount that could be donated to campaign funds, but it was declared unconstitutional, violates the first amendment...... somehow.

I knew our phones weren't any safer than any other computer, but for Google to use code from the government (especially the NSA) in the OS is outrageous!! It just proves that everything Google does to appear like they care about privacy is a lie. I am so tired of the tyranny in America. When will enough people wake up and care about what is going on that we can try to have a free country again??
 
an interesting statistic would be to see how many obama phones have been used in terrorist activities...... the NSA probably isnt allowed to spy on those phones though..... that would be racist

When is the last time our government did ANYTHING good for the people? Not gonna happen anytime soon. They are only interested in spending our money (and China's money since they can't take ours fast enough) to hurt us and spy on us so they know who doesn't like what they are doing and who is "They did....never mind American Idol"

It isn't just for the homeless, they will give the phones to anyone even if they know that the person has no intention of keeping it at all, just reselling it.
