maybe, but if someone needed help after using odin and trying to figure how to use other stuff in conjunction with odin, i was just offering the guide as help for those kinds of problems

Wow. What a mess, waste, immature load of compost this thread has morphed into.

I was so busy removing waste matter that it occurred to me that removing the thread might be the better way to go.

But instead I'll just lock the thing, and then we'll examine this further for possible infractions.

crew thanks for your port i know thats hard ass work and it makes your brain hurt sometimes with the deadends lol but its good work.. Sorry for posting thank yous like that like this but i feel its needed..
 
Seen a few had trouble with rooting & asking for directions alot in the other threads.

So i decided to also make a Odin image for u guys here,
but this one is already rooted & with CWM5, since u guys already have the stock image up.

Thanks to Koumajutsu
& HROARK for the odin methods & hard work.

These odin images i created after installing the EJ06 Update, Installing CWM5, & Also rooting it.
SPHM820-EJ06-CWM5-Rooted.zip

Basically to avoid all the hassle of it being made later by the devs who are working on newer projects. Feel free to mirror or add to original post.

Also added a shortcut in the .zip, that will bring users directly to this thread once clicked.
For quick viewing on whats going on with new odin images, probs, etc.

If needed, copy it to previous versions .zip files.

Hope this helps out & thanks to everyone for there hard work.. ;)

The CWM version is actually v4.0.1.5

I can not change that either, that is set by the makers of CWM

I created CWM ports of v4.0.1.5 but there has been several revisions of my port, each of my ports is still v4.0.1.5 but I add a rev number to keep track of what changes I made to the v4.0.1.5 port

What is CWM and what is it used for? I have the M828C Precedent.

Is there a way to mod the precedent?

I just re did the ODIN I was able to do my gmail real fast then I logged into "talk" so i got on market and was able to get my Big Buttons :) everything looked good... but then bam, auth error popped up. I just read your reply so i just did the reset and then the wipe and now the reboot. i am waiting right now for it to boot up and see what happened.

I tried to redo odin and i got it in the right mode and everything, plugged it into usb tried odin. I was only able to load the .ops file, it wouldnt let me load the tar files onto odin... so i wasnt able to redo it...

It is a custom recovery loader..

A recovery allows you to flash (install) the different ROMs, kernels, themes, mods, fonts, anything custom.
Also allows you to do the wipes necessary before the ROMs and kernels.
And another thing, it allows you to make NANDRIOD backups, which are important every single time you make a change via a theme or mod or kernel etc. to your phone.

NANDROID backups allows you to 'restore' your phone exactly the way it was before you made that change, in case something screws up.

make sure one package is not selected on the options in odin, if your trying to load the other pda,boot,phone tars.
 
Everything updated (via Odin) fine, 2.3.5 working, but ...

I am recieving 'Google talk authentication' errors and Google market apps hang up at start of download. I updated superuser.

Titanium backup and Yahoo sports (1 superuser 1 not) both are hung up. I have repeatedly tried to reboot to no avail.

I've already gotten teh Google talk thing once, a factory reset fixed that right up for me

I had this as well, I was able to download updates on the old market, but once Market updated itself, I got hung up. So I reset it, and instead of opening market first, I added my google account through Accounts & Sync, and it worked fine.
 
Ok so I have noticed that once market updates, no matter what app i try to install it tells me that i don't have enough space on my device. Has anyone else experienced this? I have had this twice now. I installed using the Odin method than did a factory whipe thinking it would help but it is still doing the same thing.
