Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

this may sound like a real bone head question but where is the odin version provided here? I only see links to the image files, no odin.

most all of the images provide a copy of Odin and the samsung drivers along with the image

I figured it out. It was actually something REALLY stupid on my part. I plugged my phone in with out putting it in download mode. Once I did that two drivers were installed then Odin recognized it. ::face palm::

What line in odin would u put a stock recovery image? PDA?

you put the boot.tar in the boot line
the pda.tar in the pda line
the phone.tar in the phone line
the csc.tar in the csc line (when applicable)
and the .ops file in the ops line

so pretty much ALL of the lines!

i rooted my galaxy prevail with 2.3.6 with odin exactly how you showed, and it seems to have worked. except i still dont have root access. it wiped my phone and installed the new rom or whatever its called, but it didnt give me root access. plz help!

are you sure you don't have root access?
How are you checking?

Which Odin image did you use? Did your select the rooted one with cwm?

Fa19
http://www.mediafire.com/?kb4nr93l994q9o8

Or EJ06

Edit-you said you flashed a Rom, so you must have cwm.... And do you have super user in you app drawer?

Re-edit... You said 'it' installed. I think you may have downloaded the stock unrooted version by mistake, or the link is wrong (i can't access mediafire atm to check... Whole other story...) Try one of the ones above...

i tried the fa19 you have linked, andit still gave me the stock unrooted version. no superuser, no nothing. should i try the ej06?

I know for a fact the ejo6 is the correct link (i hosted it on mediafire myself). The fa19 i took from the op. So, yes. Try the ej06

The FA19 image is the one hosted on my MediaFire account. If it boots, it's rooted

I was just thinking the links might have gotten reversed when hroark last updated- rooted to non rooted, and vice versa (someone else pm'd me a while back with the same problem with fa19rooted dl... )

try flashing the EJ06 image then if its not rooted, use the OCR...

see if that helps

One Click Root... http://goo.gl/S5wq7

not sure if it'll work or not but its worth a shot...
Make sure you have "USB DEBUGGING" on...
