Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

I live in a basement of a row-home. As far as I can tell there is only 1 tower and its a few miles away. Even though I had shit reception down here in the basement, my cals always went through. For some reason today I have nothing but an X.

If I go outside the reception comes back, but very-very low. That just started for no reason at all today. Now I cant use it in the house at all, never had that issue before. So I tried changing to the FA19, but no difference. In fact it's making the phone act wierd. Sticky-Freezing. Not sure why. Never had these issues in the basement.

Every once in awhile my signal will die and in fact I actually posted about it in the past. Many suggested to send my phone in but then it would come back and be ok after a day or two.

As I am typing this I walked outside and cant get a signal at all now.

uh..... wtf is that 0? 4168 is SID so that mean you on channel 0? mine is 50. and try another prl. that's boosts newest one so they might not have your area yet.
 
are you in Philly? that location associated with your SID but that ch 0 thing gotta be the problem.

example.... this is your SID from 111119 which is what I'm on....

my channel is 50 so I think yours should be too. 50 in 1x but not evdo so I'd I'm reading that right this one won't work for you. lol
I know you on boost prl this don't list them tho just showing example with channels
 
It goes to 0 when I have no signal.

I just redid my phone, I have rooted gingerbread installed, am back to EJ06, getting ready to install CTMOD 3.6, but wanted to ask you how do I know what PRL's I can use based on myCURRENT info below:

BaseBand: S:M820.07 x.EJ06
PRL: 61008
Channel/SID: 650/4168

What do I do with that info??? - if there is anything I need to change/do, I think I'm supposed to do it all before I install CTMod.

good thing you just told me channel.I assumed it was same as mine and was bout to tell you sprint prls no work for you. lemme check again with 650
 
Just a lil heads up. If your phone had good signal then lost it for no apparent reason, Sprint is probably doing work on the towers in your area.

The last time that happened to me I had crappy signal for almost a week.

Also, I would switch to EJ06 regardless. I think you said that you have already done that.
 
I'm hoping Biker is right about Sprint maybe updating towers or whatever the hell they are doing. This seems to happen to me a few times a year out of nowhere, then goes back to normal after a few days.
 
Come to think of it this started this morning about 7:30, hopefully your right Biker, they were probably going to work at that time, maybe. Bastards all causing me headaches and making me paranoid thinkin my phone is broke.

that makes no difference to you cuz you boost prl not sprint. I checked every sprint prl and there had never been evdo for 650 in your area. 550 or 675 but not 650. idk how to check boost prl. bet you 61007 what you want cuz since 61008 new it prolly not reach you yet. especially if sprint never even made it there
 
you should pack your entire family up and leave your home behind and go on epic journey to find evdo service for your channel. like right this second. don't worry bout selling home you can always post it for sale once you get 3g
 
yeah thats what I had was 61007, then it changed. I think it changed when I installed FA19, but I'm not certain on that. I remember from looking at it before that it was always 61007.

So how do I change it back, should I change it back, can I change it back to 61007 ?
 
lol. not sure what you mean but I ALWAYS HAD 3G with no problems whatsoever even being in this basement. Just having issues today.
 
Do you guys think I should manually change it myself after I learn how to do it? I was just reading about changing it from a diagnostic menu. But I dont know just yet how its done.

Question is should I ?

you know when it changed to 61008? it asked me if I wanted to update prl when I activated service/upgraded to fa19 (flashed fa19 stock then activate service) so idk if it was cuz activate or cuz fa19.

you can go back to 61007 you just gotta look through prl threads for zip. I recommend going to ej06 rooted with Odin then changing prl with cdmaws.

and maybe continue this convo on a prl thread.we a Lil off topic now and there like 7 prl threads.

there several guides you just gotta look thru threads for them and prl/software to download or if you want pm me and I can send you what you need
 
I just got off the phone with Boost. They said that they are having a problem with a tower in my zip of 19136 today and its affecting all the smartphones. They also said the PRL doesnt matter and it updates itself.

Been there and and done that. I figured that's what was up since you went from a good signal to hardly none at all without you doing anything. Hopefully they'll get it fixed sooner than they did w/ mine. I would go from 3 bars to no signal at all throughout the week they were doing their work. It really sux when you absolutely NEED to make an important call. LOL ;):)

Hope ya get it fixed soon.

You might wanna try this app too from the market. I've heard of it helping people get better signal. I think it was Cwhatever who posted that it worked for him when he was getting low signal. I don't know if it will actually help you since they are doing work but it won't hurt to try it.;)

it supposedly connect you to tower with best signal so should connect you to further one if it stronger since not being worked on. idk tho could easily just put you in airplane mode and then back and that it. he hide status bar so that could be all app really does.

I've read from members here in AF that this app really works. C had hardly any signal , ran the app and came up with a much better signal. Only 1 way to see if it works though and that's to try it.

It wouldn't work for me though because there is only 1 tower in my area.
