Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

hroark13 I have a suggestion and another odin possibility, the EE14 with all that you have now but add a generic shabbymod .9. with the new cwm flashable themes they can at that point just add what ever theme they like and they will be set.

phone.tar is the modem / baseband version

boot.tar is secondary boot loaders, you should not have to flash these unless phone got really messed up

boot.tar contains
BML1 MIBIB
BML2 QCSBL
BML3 OEMSBL
BML8 ARM11BOOT


phone.tar contains
BML4 AMSS

pda.tar contains
BML9 BOOT.IMG
BML10 RECOVERY.IMG
STL12 SYSTEM RFS
STL13 DATA RFS

dont get confused about boot.tar and boot.img they are totally different

boot.img is the linux kernel + ramsdisk
 
I used this (EE14 ROOTED VERSION WITH CWM AND HROARKERNEL) to finally root my brand new phone but for some reason I keep getting errors whenever I try to download apps off of the market place.

I was able to download about 3 apps before this started happening.

Is this normal, anybody else having problems? Rooted or not.

I don't even use Google Talk, it just keeps notifying me of that.

Anti-Virus on my phone..? It's straight out the Odin box, I haven't installed anything.

go into ClockWorkMod and do a factory wipe

power off phone

hold vol up, and power untill in cwm
 
I have been trying to root my prevail for the past week, and though I have confidence in my android (beginner) rooting skills from my nook color and subsequent android platform tablets I have rooted for friends and family, I was lost....completely. I was actually ready to return this phone and go back to my Blackberry, which I loved but is useless when compared to a Droid.

You did, in 2 minutes, what no other Androidly-gifted forum poster has done on any site, in terms of the prevail.

After a week and at least 40 hours my phone is rooted....THANK YOU!!!!!!!

FOR THOSE WITH EE14 JUST RUN THE EE13(ROOTED) in the way described at the beggining of this thread. The once that is done run KMS.zip ExistenceToPrevail.BAT

its disgustingly THAT FREAKIN SIMPLE!!

you could just load the ee14 rooted version and make it a lot easier

I am having this same problem. I went into CWM and did the factory delete option but I still get the google talk failed to authenticate error. Plus, it seems that the market app is not updating for some reason either and force closes after a bit.

Update: I went back into CWM and did the factory delete and then went into advanced and clear the Dalvik Cache and that solved it.
