[Official Discussion] Huawei Ascend 2.1 - 2.2 Firmware Upgrade (Info updated as received!)

Ive been tryin to use the official 2.2 update from metro pcs. But wen i go to actually do it it say i am officially up to date but ive never updated anything. What should i do?

I have tried to root also with no luck. Z4Root is not working and I also tried Super One Click, which never finds the phone. If someone figures out how to root the phone after applying the update please let us know.
 
I downloaded gingerbreak and root explorer but when i go into root explorer i cant find any of the stuff that i want to delet and when i do find it.. it says cant delet it.. :( help me!!

/cust/metropcs/us, if you want to delete all the bloatware (with except of 2 or 3 in system/app) delete the metropcs folder.
 
Please help!

For the past two days my Ascend has been automatically dialing random phone numbers from my contacts list. It seems to be happening at around the same time of day (around 5pm and 9pm). In addition, the bluetooth function keeps activating by itself randomly throughout the day forcing me to constantly check and shut it off. I tried uninstalling any recent apps to see if that fixes the problem, I have to wait until 5pm to see if that made a difference. Has anyone else had these issues? Any possible fixes or troubleshooting ideas? Currently running CM7-0521.:confused:

naw...lol thats for a backup just incase metro servers are down, i have them on mines...lol;)

do you have any ATK or battery apps install, if so that can one of the problems, cause on battery apps they can control wifi, data, bluetooth and so on.

no. haven't used one since I was on stock 2.1. actually thinking of installing one to see if it can prevent the Bluetooth from coming on. if that doesn't work i'll just wipe the phone and re-install CM7.
