***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Yeah the volume thing seems to be pretty widespread on the GSM version, so it would make sense if it was also affecting the LTE version and causing this delay.

Not sure how something like that, if a hardware issue, doesn't come up in testing.....

It could be as simple as a batch of faulty rocker switches or connectors. That could get through testing and still cause problems. Its always the little things that get you.

Browsing further: Issue 22021: Volume down/mute on Galaxy Nexus running 4.0

Not looking happy.

Hmmmm they mention low signal strength and OS version 4.0.1. That sounds like a software issue which is good. An update should be able to fix it once the problem is sourced and corrected.

Off Topic:

What made me assume OTD was a man baby was when OTD was giving out the poker lessons. I just guess that it was a dude. Unless I am thinking of a different poker playing moderator.

That would probably be me (it is what I do for a living), but I wouldn't call anything I've said on here lessons. ;)

There are plenty of female poker players though. Just google Vanessa Rousso, Annie Duke, Tiffany Michelle, Erica Shoenberg, Clownie Gowen, Erin Ness, Jennifer Tilly, Shannon Elizabeth, Tina Wallmann, Michelle Orpe, Lauren King, Diane Nguyen, Kara Scott or Liz Lieu. They are all world class poker pros.

Ugh now I'm depressed...I was really hoping for a preorder/web release tomorrow...if this volume issue is truly this bad... Idk @ this point...

How come BMX or P3 have not said anything about this issue?

I was just wondering that too.

There is so much that doesn't add up with what they say (even between each other) and what the rest of the web is saying.

OT:
I knew you played but didn't know you played for a living. Nice :)

Well, my girlfriend makes a good living which has left me the opportunity to pursue something I love. I'm not in the big leagues making tons of money by any means. I make enough so that none of our other money goes towards my playing and we can take vacations and go have nice dinners. I don't think I'll be buying a Bentley or million dollar home any time soon though.;) I did win some Best Buy gift cards a few days ago that will let me pay for my next phone though. :D

Call me crazy, but with all the reports of bugs and who really knows about the 16gb/32gb situation ( although I'm nearly certain it will be 32 gb ) ...

... the Rezound is looking better and better every second. I want to believe, but ...

the problem only seems to happen to those who are on a network that uses the 900MHz frequency band for 2G

If this is indeed true, this issue shouldn't affect it on Verizon, who uses the 850mhz band for 2g, at all.

Wow. Fortunately for me, I have 2 upgrades ready to use, so if this is a hardware issue, I'm going to upgrade to the Rezound right now and wait until the QCs drop next year to worry about having the latest and greatest, but that's a huge bummer to everyone else who has been waiting since last month's announcement for this phone.

Saw this issue going around with the GSMers over on XDA, still really hoping it isn't a HW issue/widespread, but if it is, there's virtually no way we will be seeing this phone before the end of the year.

That's awesome. Anytime you get to do what you love as your "job" it's a great situation. And that's what I need, a well paid girlfriend lol

I guess vzw was right to hold it back to test it more and bmx and p3 were wrong in saying it was ready for release. Wonder if hate for Verizon will die down for an bit haha

Well, you also have to keep in mind that the GSM version and CDMA/LTE version may experience the same problem in different ways. While the GSM version of the phone could be having issues at 900 mhz the different hardware in the CDMA version could have the same issue at 850 mhz or even 700 mhz. That is it is even an issue for the CDMA version at all.

Welcome the forum, BTW.

lol I wouldn't count on it.
