FTW!

And we thought that $111 was a good deal for a RAZR. They are now $0.01!
AmazonWireless: Motorola DROID RAZR 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)

If RAZRs are now going for a penny (only for new customers; $229 for uprades), this means there is less money to be made on this "latest" device. It took less than 10 days for RAZR to get here. Rezound dropped on Nov 14 and I am sure it won't go beyond a couple of weeks either before dropping to a lower price.

It would make sense for Verizon to release a new killer phone in the next few days or risk losing the buzz in the upcoming holiday season. Only decent model that can be launched is the Nexus and I don't remember seeing any other ones in the pipeline.

This latest price movement on RAZRs is giving me more hope that the Nexus launch is imminent. Could be any day now. Of course if it is in next couple of days, we all will have a great Thanksgiving.

i was hoping to have my galaxy nexus by thanksgiving for use during Black Friday... :( oh well, with the delay it may have to wait till closer to christmas since im going to be spending quite a bit on Black Friday as it is.

Actually, the Rezound is also $0.01 on Amazon right now (on a new contract).

For me, the only source I trust so far is Matias Duarte interview on the Verge where he said the Nexus would launch in November on Verizon. So I am still hopeful (expecting) a November release unless this new volume issue also effects the LTE version of the Nexus.

Looks like the Rezound is a penny also:

AmazonWireless: HTC Rezound 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)

edit: Taking a second glance, it looks like they are all ("Best selling phones starting at a penny") on sale as part of their "Penny Pincher Black Friday Sale:

Mornin folks. I've got into the unfortunate habit of leaving this thread open on the computer at work, ugh. That volume issue and video are really disheartening. However, I feel like that could very likely be a software issue and fixed OTA. All those with OG Droids remember the camera problems, and they were fixed. (and those of us with Bionics are praying for the data drop fix :()
Anyway, really hoping for some good news today!

Good Morning GNexers! Another week without the GNex. I guess it is possible it shows up at 8am this morning. As far as reasons for the delay, I don't buy Google/Samsung delay due to inventory or supply. If Verizon wanted to sell it, but didn't have enough to do a full out distribution, they could do the web-only sale we had heard about. BMX seems pretty adamant it is not a bug issue from Google/Samsung, and Phil from AC has also mentioned it was a VZW app issue. Also the Samsung Reps are showing phones around, and like OTD mentioned, it is like butter. I just feel it has to be either Back-up Assistant not working, or the most likely, Verizon holding it to sell the RAZR and Rezound better. Unfortunately, they must know a lot of people are going the Rent a RAZR (or Rezound) route (alliteration FTW!), and probably want to lock as many as they can into those phones first.

Do you have an issue with Galaxy Nexus volume changing automatically? - xda-developers

In the article it states the volume control problem only occurs on gsm 900 mhz (2g). So this may not even effect the Verizon LTE model which is the cdma 800 mhz (2g). BMX never said anything regarding the volume issue, and said the phone itself was ready.

black_man_x Vacation Panda..
If you can't code your shitty carrier apps to work with a device or OS.. is that our issue or yours? #justsaying

Volume issue is a huge problem. Let's hope that it is a software issue.

My Thunderbolt actually does this, but pretty sure it is due to my case. Definitely annoying, but the explanation given by those in the know make me think it is not a problem the VZW phone will have.

Hey, has anyone heard what the story is on how the VZW apps are going to affect the OS updates from Google?

I'm telling you guys, I have been down this road. rumors, delays, rumors of delays, pushback dates, dates that change again and again.......

and now reports of issues, bugs, etc - It's the BIONIC all over again. :( :( :(

Don't do it!! I know I am keeping the ReZound. I won't get fooled again!

I dunno, one thing I have realized, with so much of the tech world engrossed in all things Apple, you have to take big bold headlines spelling doom about the latest and greatest android phone with a grain of salt. With any new product you are going to have a few bugs, but you can know Google is on it, so I expect a quick fix for any issues that pop up. Much quicker than any other phone, ESPECIALLY on Verizon. Sure the date being pushed back is annoying, but again, it was always rumored dates, leaked dates being pushed back.

Wait a minute..why are there Verizon apps on a Google device???

just a random fact about the phone I found out today, I believe you guys have heard of Gorilla's latest glass technology, "Lotus Glass"? I may be wrong in this, but apparently according to this the "fortified glass" on the GNex IS Lotus Glass. If it is indeed true, GNex is the first phone to be equipped with the Lotus Glass, in fact I think it was before they coin the name Lotus Glass. That explains the scratch test I believe? :D

According to Corning, the GNex does NOT have glass made by Corning...

Edit: I take it back... According to multiple "sources" on the web, it looks like the GNex "may" actually have Lotus Glass. http://mobileinsider.mobi/news/1372

I sure liked the push to beat the Incredible thread last friday, before we found out all that bad news. I didn't feel like there was only two of us on the thread all morning, like I do today

Somehow Verizon convinced Google to include Back-up Assistant and My Verizon apps out of the box. I am just hoping they are pre-loaded market versions, and are not system apps (although even then it shouldn't matter, as ICS can take care of it). I guess I can buy back-up assistant, although how difficult is it to just download it there in the store... Oh well. Like I said, I just want confirmation that it won't affect updates from Google.
