***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

And didn't that guy from AC who handled the phone say it was a 2000+ battery? And the japanese picture doesn't look like the one Samsung teased. The Samsung-teased one had silver and black on the side, and this ugly piece of crap is all silver.

Maybe the Japanese one is the 9250, NOT the SCH-515.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking.

Even if the thing is 135mm, big deal. Bet that winds up being the same size as my Droid X if I had a cover on it.

But in any event, I'm holding off on any judgement until the official announcement. All the stuff in that Japanese thing shown recently in the thread doesn't add up.

this is probably the strangest post i've seen yet. :p can you explain?

In fact, I'm not happy with the way Android has been going at all. It's deviated far too much from Motorola's original vision.

To hell with the Nexus, I'm just going to go find a MOTOROLA FLIPSIDE(TM) with MOTOBLUR(TM).

Why does no one know what country Hong Kong is in?

Anyway, the only spec that is bothering me is that it's 9mm taller then the DX and the pic shows a lot of bezel above and below. Like ugly iPhone bezel. The DX already had way too much bezel below (where the dumb Verizon logo is) that could easily fit the increased screen size for software buttons.

I think the picture is legit. Someone snapped a photo of a poster. It would take a very clever artist to add that lousy reflection in the upper-right. Whether the specs will be the same in the US or not is anybody's guess.

If that's what it looks like, I'm slightly disappointed. It's too iPhone3 my tastes. What is Samsung thinking? The RAZR in comparison looks much nicer. I totally dig its carbon fiber-looking back.

However, I'm not the kind of person who is put off by ugly. You should see how I dress and what I drive. Also, some things need to be seen from every angle to appreciate.

My strategy is simple. Barring something terrible when the specs officially come to light, I'll pre-order one and use my 14 days to put it through its paces, comparing it to the competition. If it sucks, I have the RAZR (SPYDER, whatever) to fall back on. I could do without the skinning and bloat but my skinned and bloated DX has done me well so far.

We need to post a pic of Kevin Bacon from Animal House when he says "Don't panic!" ;)

That said, folks here may have created a legend for a device (at least for VZW and the model they might get).

Forget Kevin Bacon.

If that is what we are getting, I too think it's kinda fugly, and I do get put off by it.

After all:

Just a little confused here. Maybe I got the wrong idea with the FCC measurements.
The Jap poster says 136mm(H) while the FCC filing says 124mm in height, unless that 124mm measurement is not of the device's full length and is a measurement taken elsewhere...the width at 68mm is the same on both though

No need to welcome me. Been lurking since this thread started to blow up and I know the love exists. So I'm about to stir the pot...

All of these specs, from the people who've leaked info to the Japanese poster, are all based on some early prototypes that were built to gauge ergonomics, battery performance, etc... The only reason Google let these things out to be played with is because they knew that the specs were changing. Why would they let loose lipped Verizon have access when they're trying to run a tight ship and build suspense?

When the OMAP 4460 looked like it was going to be held up (long before announcement regarding Archos), Samsung pleaded with Google for permission to use Exynos 4210. So that's what we're getting.

I know this dead horse was beat a while back, but the argument that this isn't possible due to the limited amount of time to re-engineer is invalid. Like I said these devices that are being played with were EARLY prototypes.

Anyway... if I'm right some of you who read this will say, "How the heck did he know that!?"
If I'm wrong, I get thrown into the pile of all the other wrong rumors. It's big enough for me to not worry about being heckled. ;-)

Point is, we can all rejoice now. I saved the attitude of the thread for short period of time.

Looking forward to my Nexus rocking Exynos 4210 on Nov 3rd. :D

Not happening. This always occurs prior to any launch -- people think that the final specs aren't the ones that have been shown in all the leaked devices, but they always prove to be true. SGS3 will have the Exynos, but the specs we've seen will be on the Nexus.

The way we've overhyped this thing in the thread, there may not be a phone to hit OUR specs until next year! I don't ask much from Nexus:

Dual Core 1.2GHz+
SuperAMOLED HD screen
1GB RAM
32GB memory
Unlocked bootloader
GPS
Wifi & Bluetooth
ICS

Oh yeah, one more thing:
Please be LTE, Please be LTE, PLEASE be LTE....

Wait, am I reading this right? The iPhone 4S is 73.1 and the Galnexusaurus will be 29.3???

I think everyone needs to calm down... I don't see the problem here, All the specs match almost exactly what we have known, except that it looks like there is in fact an SD card (good thing). Screen is what we expected, processor is what we expected (underclocked for battery life, but capable of 1.5). We knew camera would be 5MP, I mean come on people.
