Is it verizon more than anything else that causes for the high prices ? Seems like all the 4g phones are 300?
Wait for the price drop. Most people don't care about anything like root or a "true google experience" & are likely only to see the big screen as the best selling point. I expect a $50 price drop fairly quickly to better compete with the iPhone 4S.
This kind of attitude makes me want to kick puppies.
Actually... I was going to write a response but I can't, because it's going to get deleted as aggressive and personal.
Suffice to say: this is a horrible idea and is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what rational human beings actually want, regardless of their professed impatience.
you could go to sprint and get their 4g phones for the "norm" of $199, but then pay $10/month for 24 months to use use it. as for me, i will gladly pay a little extra up front and save the $140 over the life of the contract
interesting it just seemed to me as an non verizon customer that their phones are an lot more money upfront, and it still is 20-25 more an month.
Invalidjust saw this and thought most of us would get a kick out of it

For me I get a discount through my employer so it brings the price to about the same price sprint would be yet with lte and much better coverage.
ahh cool i am not saying either carrier is better than any other was just wondering why most of verizons phones when they first come out are 300 , when everybody else is around 200 ?

how do you figure that? verizons unlimited plan is 69.99 for unlimited talk and text plus 30 for data on 4g. sprints "unlimited" 4g plan is 79.99 plus $10 add-on for 4g, making it 89.99. while that sounds $10 cheaper, dig a little deeper under the marketing and find out that sprints "unlimited" talk portion of their plan actually only includes 450 minutes, and the unlimited portion pertains to mobile phones only. so yes, i guess in this instance it is $10 cheaper a month, at the trade off of only getting 450 minutes in your unlimited plan, unlike verizons unlimited.
LOL... I meant the check was invalid. I see your image fine!Don't know why. It shows up ok for me. (trying again)

Thank God I still have my old 700 minute shared family plan. Sounds like I'd need a 2nd job to pay the current prices.
... The patent office needs a swift kick for granting some of these overly obvious patents. Software and electronics patents really need to die. I'm not talking about inventing the new superchip, I'm talking about "Method and apparatus for measuring voltage" type patents that are just companies trying to develope a warchest for litigation.
People on grandfathered plans are lucky. I currently have a plan through Verizon that is $59.99 for 450 minutes + unlimited texts + $10 for unlimited data. After discounts and taxes, it comes to $66 and change a month.
However, just moved my wife over to Verizon, 700 min plan w/unlimited text for addtl $30, my $10/mo data plan, and $30/mo for 2GB for her. After discounts, it's $127 and change, so I expect about $140. I can further save cash by dropping texts to 5k for $20, or 500 for $10. I can definitely do the 5k texts, not sure on the 500.
I'd love to get in on my regional promotion of unlimited mobile to any mobile, but I'd have to drop my $10 data plan to get it.
