***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

This is the one I bought. It shipped fast, from Madison Wi. Nice case

This is a bunch of crap with no evidence to back it up. The ONLY thing that is known is that Wallet won't come pre-installed on the Nexus when it ships. It does not mean that Verizon has anything to do with it, or that it is anything other than Google ironing out something in Wallet before rolling it out to the masses.

Blunt titles like that one are designed to gain hits, not to be factually accurate. The author has no source or any information to back up the claim that it will not be supported.

Did anyone note the fact that, yes, the Nexus S supports Wallet... but on a different version of Android? Just because someone shoe-horned it into ICS doesn't mean that it's ready for prime time on that OS.

Question: Does anyone know the current competitive footprint of Isis vs Google Wallet? I want whichever is more commonly available.

Whelp, time to keep tabs on BGR. Hopefully they'll be two for two. ;)

BGR was the first place I found OG Droid news when it launched.

So far there is very little proof being provided towards a post-December 9th release. Most of that is out there is not very credible to say the least.

I don't trust any of these proposed days anymore. When it is avail, I'll buy it.

I know we're creeping into 9th release rumors, but I would like to point out the only "screenshot" leaks we've seen have shown the 8th. 3 days baby. Say it with me now.

U Gotta Believe

Believing is one thing, but a lot of news would have to come out today.

Think about it - why would Verizon not advertise the heck out of this phone? They have the first ICS phone and it could be one of the biggest of the year. The way they did commercials for Charge, Bionic, Thunderbolt, Razr, ReZound, etc... makes me believe we are still a bit away.

I love the internet rumors and i'm very excited, but when has Verizon released a phone w/ no advertisement? And why would they release it w/o advertising the heck out of it?

This might be a case where Verizon's actions speak louder than the internet's words.

If it's anything like the radio in the Rezound... I was in my first 4G LTE area on Saturday, and was easily doing 36mbps download and 18mbps upload, no joke, and multiple times. Unreal!

I had and returned the Rezound last week and you're correct, it has an exceptionally good radio. Fast downloads, quick handoffs from 3G to 4G and back again. But my Charge was horrific in that area and if the GNex is like that, it'll be going back regardless of ICS. I'd buy the Rezound again (outstanding all-around device) and just wait for ICS.

They didn

I agree with that but technically until Verizon announces it for all we know there could be a 0% chance that It's realeased this week.

 0% chance? A little grim don't you think?

I think there has been more than enough leads pointing to the 8th and 9th to confidentally believe in a pre-order or release this week. With the majority odds I'm willing to risk the dissappointment and place my bets on this week. (FYI, if money was involved, I would actually make the bet). Then again, I like to be optimistic anyways.

OK WHAT THE HECK! This is from a chat I just had with a CSR. Bizzare!

Mike: We are having a great day at Verizon Wireless, I hope you are too. How can I assist you today?
Matt: Hi, last night I spoke with a customer service rep. about the Galaxy Nexus. She said I could preorder this device on Wednesday. Is this true?
Mike: I do apologize about that I have not heard anything about that online one moment please!
Matt: Okay!
Mike: thanks!
Mike: Thank you for holding I checked I am not seeing anything online about that sorry
Matt: Okay...do you know when it will be available? Either online or instores?
Mike: Go to phonescoop.com and it will tell you I cannot see
Matt: What is that?
Mike: A site where you can check and see when the phones are coming out
Matt: Is it official from Verizon?
Mike: It is not official but very accurate

I won't believe anything a CSR says until they allow you to order it and send you a receipt with a ship date on it. Then I might even question that. We've shown time and again that CSRs know nothing. I believe less and less of what "sources" say as well now...not that I doubt their validity, but they don't control the situation and what they hear can change or be false to begin with. I'll believe the phone is out and available for purchase when I hold it in my hand and a monetary transaction takes place.

So now it's sounding like next week? *sigh*

Wait Cam we can't do this :p

Everytime we hear a rumor or see a CSR chat we just go all *hey I'm defeated now, I have to wait longer, woah is me*

Positivity brother it's nothing but pure "WIN" ;)

At least with the original droid I did not see a tv ad until monday or tuesday night, and it came out that same thursday or friday.

Rezound has micro-sim, no?

LOL!

A phone call to our local corporate store yesterday (Clarksville, Tennessee) netted that there is no date, there is no waiting list, there will be no waiting list, there will be no appointments, on the day the phone is released you can walk in and pick one up. He acted like there was absolutely nothing important or groundbreaking about the it...just another phone. Skepticism on my part? Totally. Hoping for an online preorder because I'm not sure I trust that I'll be able to just "walk in and pick one up," as he stated.
