32gb for $299

These 10 cent apps are really making this wait much much worse... I would like to purchase them and use them at 10 cents... but either the app is not compatible with my OG Droid or I don't have the storage space for it, so I can't actually buy it now to have at least for when I DO get the Nexus... sigh...

Come on Verizon... enough - make it happen, I am so disappointed in you right now it's not even funny anymore.

so buy it from the interenet explorer on your PC. you can definiteily buy it there.

So, I'm not obsessing over the Galaxy Nexus so that I can take pictures with the phone. Having said that, if I'm choosing to pay $300 for a phone over other devices, I'd like to know that I'm gonna get features atleast equal to other phones. So, I'll admit I scatched my head at the 5MP camera when it was announced. I've since heard that 5MP doesn't matter, and that perhaps it was selected as it would better handle the zero-shutter-speed feature of ICS. But still...

ZDnet has a series of pictures, and I have to say that the Galaxy Nexus stands up very well. You can see that the camera is capturing lots of light, and the pictures look detailed, bright, and not over-exposed, compared to pictures taken with other cameras.

In case I'm not alone in worrying about the camera, here's the link...

Sorry if it was already posted somewhere... The rate at which this thread grows is amazing...

I've been living here for 6 years now, I go to Opening Day at Fenway every year in my Yankees jersey (Rivera, obviously). Never been hassled once.. of course, it probably helps that I'm 6'2, 280. ;)

I point you to these:

I hear you. 6'4" 325 here.

As far as the "informed articles" are concerned, just be wary. They said Daisuke was the second coming of Christ. That hasn't exactly worked out for Boston.

Most likely he'll have 1-2 good years until everyone figures him out.

What is this $20 upgrade fee?

I've only been on Verizon for 2 years (since OG Droid) so not sure what fees are associated with upgrading. When I (finally) get the SGN, I should only pay $299 + tax correct?

I read somewhere activation fees on upgrades are waived.

Wow, they are REALLY tight lipped. Just called my retailer down the street and she had a supposed date but was unable to share the info. I didn't force this issue too much but I did ask her if I could at least come in this week and pick one up. She said no, it won't be for sale on Friday as we had previously hoped.

Tried and it also doesn't work. If I don't have a compatible device I cannot hit the purchase button. If I do and don't install it right away (lack of space), it gets cancelled...

If you are eligible for an early upgrade (they don't exist anymore, but you could be grandfathered for one final one, basically main line on family plans, or if you exceed a certain amount per month gets upgrades every year instead of every 2), you have to pay a $20 early upgrade fee at a store. You also sacrifice your new every two.

Believe me, I was as skeptical as it got; I mean, does anyone need to bring up Kei Igawa? But I've really warmed up to the idea, and if the Yankees can get him with only money, the resource we have in the highest supply, without giving up any draft picks or anything else, why not? Igawa really appears to have the track record and proven durability.

Tight lipped=threatened I tend to believe. Job security in this day and age is scary. Although I hope they aren't doing this to employees it might be the only thing to keep their traps shut.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me that the network issues the last two days are the only cause of the delay.

Think about it. In the beginning of the week there was a mad rush by Verizon to get stores stocked up and caught up. If you noticed, on all of the leaked documents that were detailing shipping/inventory/storage prep, it mentioned that the phones were being shipped to stores by a special process, employees had to inventory them in a different way, everything about the way they got the phones into stores was done in a rush as opposed to normal.

My gut is telling me that they want this phone out just as quick as we want to buy it. Every weekend that goes by is another holiday sales weekend missed. And when the network issues and SIM authentication issues started coming up, they, in an emergency like response, killed the Friday launch. I'm assuming that in the areas where 4G was down, they wouldn't even be able to activate it on the network, or they would have to give you a brand new 4G phone saying "Well, 4G doesn't work...but enjoy it!"

Network is back up this morning. 24 hours of testing/waiting to make sure everything is fixed could put us at tomorrow still, but more realistically they will wait the weekend out to make sure things are straightened out.

No other scenario makes any sense to me. Lack of GW support makes no sense (see my previous post). The phone is obviously ready for prime time as it's been shipped and the OTA everyone is getting upon booting up is final. Employees have been trained. Everything is set to go. EXCEPT for their own 4G network...

I just hung up with a Rep from my local Verizon store. I called and asked if they are going to be selling the Galaxy Nexus tomorrow? The Rep said, "Hang on a second". He returned to the phone and said, "Yes, we will be selling the Nexus tomorrow".

This is soooo crazy lol!

Probably told them "all calls will be recorded today so here is what you say"...Because everyone that calls is pretty much getting the same lines word for word.

Good luck!

For all those that think this has to do with Google Wallet:

Statement from Jeffrey Nelson, spokesperson for Verizon: Recent reports that Verizon is blocking Google Wallet on our devices are false. Verizon does not block applications.
Google Wallet is different from other widely-available m-commerce services. Google Wallet does not simply access the operating system and basic hardware of our phones like thousands of other applications. Instead, in order to work as architected by Google, Google Wallet needs to be integrated into a new, secure and proprietary hardware element in our phones.

Based on this, Verizon doesn't really have a choice. It's not a software issue, it's a hardware issue.

That doesn't explain anything. They've had this phone for a loooong time in order to test it. They didn't just get the device last week.
