As one of the "Primary" posters on this thread, I can tell you that the reasons I haven't posted as much are primarily because I was away in California on vacation, all of last week and secondarily because I chat on the IRC chat channel for the droid incredible more.

So, if I may, I would like to speak for myself as to my motivations and not have people put words in my mouth and speak for me. I have a wife for that! ;) :p

My red to black cover arrived today. It is much thinner plastic than I thought it would be. The clear case I have for my Omnia is quite thick and sturdy. I'm afraid the Incredible case won't protect it from anything but scratches. In fact, I think if this case even hit my soft vinyl floor in the kitchen that it would break. I'm going to take a look at the silicon cases on Thursday and may return this one even tho it is beautiful.

Sometimes if the plastic case breaks, it's a good thing that makes it absorbed all the damaging energy that would have transferred into your phone otherwise. Could you tell me if that case has felt on the inside?
 
I just pre-ordered my Inc and I noticed this during checkout.

It does not have felt on the inside. It's quite flimsy I think. Lets see if I can give you a visual... Its about as thick as the white cardboard the case comes in. :(

Usually, they are allocated by the volume that the store normally does, as opposed to the size of the city they're in (as explained to me by a VZW retail CSR). You may have two VZW stores in the same city, and if one store is doing twice the volume, it's going to get upwards of that many more handsets.

You figure, they can only send each store so many handsets at a time, and they're trying to do a balancing act where they don't want to send 30 phones to some store where 11 of them might be sitting in the back for 3 weeks, when there is another store that gets 40, but they're begging for more because they can sell 40 in 2 or 3 days.

What are you guys going to do if we do not receive the 2GB MicroSD in the box? I called a CSR. They said to print out the offer and take the UNOPENED package to a Verizon Store and open in there and explain why you are opening it there so you will receive the card if it is not included. Ridiculous that it would not be included. I have a pre order like the rest of you that does not state a 2GB card will be included since we were one of the first batches to order. Any other suggestions???? I tried emailing internet orders and asked my question about the microsd card.
 
i have one from bestskinsever.com which is the same thing, just a little cheaper. it has given me NO problems whatsoever. when you remove them, they dont leave any residue or anything liek that, and the screen seems to be just as sensitive with it on there. the majority of the bubbles should be squeegeed out when you apply it, the "pinhole" sized ones will go away mostly within the first 24 hours, at least that's in my experience with them

I don't care. It's a silly 2GB card that I wasn't expecting to receive when I placed my order. If I get it now, whatever.
 
bought a zagg screen protector for the incredible yesterday. i'm regretting it already b/c the orange peel and reviews. if i put it on and hate it, when i remove it will my phone stay sticky for a while and gross? will it make the screen look grainy? does it make the screen feel worse/perform worse? how bad is the orange peel (does it look that bad)? also i don't like the idea of putting a solution/watery substance all over my brand new incredible.

i'm going to let it dry overnight, how long until the bubbles usually go away and it looks the best it will look. guessing 3-4 days? thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry about it. I was checking out my buddies Zagg screen protector this weekend and it really isn't bad at all. He DIDN'T have the 'orange peel' look and it felt fine. He said he just made sure to follow the directions and he took his time. I guess it also depends on how crazy you are. If you consider yourself a normal person who doesn't stare at every TV screen in Best Buy counting dead pixel ratios, I'm sure you'll like it. Also, he dropped his Eris and broke the screen, the Zagg protector held the screen together to the point he could still use the touch screen even though it was spider webbed from the center to the edges, sucks for him but I thought it was cool. (note: the screen I saw this weekend was his new phone)

I know the corporate store in Sioux Falls, SD is getting around 10 according to the manager. I kinda figured larger metro areas would get more (SF is only around 200k) so I don't think 30 at your store seems outta line.

I asked a rep at a store near me how many they had in stock and he told me (The store I visited had 45, by the way). If you want to make sure a particular store has sufficient stock, you could pay the store a visit or make a call, and just ask them. Depending upon the rep, they may not know, or for some reason they may not want to tell you, but it can't hurt to ask. I decided to pre-order online and have it shipped to work so that I didn't have to take time off or risk them running out before I got out of work on Thursday. It is also nice not to have to deal with a mail-in rebate, and because I have 4 lines on a family plan and I am getting 4 new phones, I figured if I ordered online there was a chance my Incredible might get shipped early since the other 3 phones are models that are already available.
