Post your internet speeds!

@ work and @ home its like 30 down and 3 up....and for the guy that has 128 down and 3 up...pointless

Why is that pointless? Upload isn't exactly necessary for your common persons needs. Most of the people posting 100+ mbps on DS are getting artificially throttled from their ISP anywho.

It's odd. I used to get around 30 Mb/s upload when I was running Vista, now I'm on Win 7 and get this.

This is from home

 With Optimum Online?!

That's a little lower than I was thinking it would be, but we've also got 3 wireless XBox's, 2 wireless desktops, 3 laptops, 1 wired desktop, and a Wii all hooked up to the same router. Granted they're not ALL on right now, but still.

Not at all shabby considering we pay for 10Mb/s...

Was also uploading files at 30kB/s if while doing the test if that makes a difference...

Greh.
Mine at home....

I had Road Runner and it was twice as fast.... at 4am.
At 6pm it was about .6 down and .1 up

So I got DSL and it's consistently 6 down and .4 up :)

"Incredibly" fast internet isn't a strongpoint of my town.

At least I know I get what I'm paying for though, this was the first ISP that I could almost reach my download and upload "cap" on simultaneously.

Jeez, this thread just made me wicked depressed haha. I thought my speed was good. I just tested and it's 9 down and 8 up. Well below half what the average is for comcast. I'm not profecient with this stuff. Is there anything I can do to speed this up myself? (other than switching isp's)

It all depends on the pipe you pay for. If you are paying for 10 mb then you obviously aren't going to get more.

I'm paying for 8MB, my exchange is apparently capable of 7MB. I know BT come in for some flack, but I've only been with them for a month or so and I'm getting at least 1-1.5MB over my previous ISP, plusnet. Upload has almost trebled too.

For my area (Scottish Highlands), that's actually not that bad.

Pingtest is also pretty good -
