OK I thought I had read somewhere that the Sprint version would have multiple bands that you could use on different carriers. Oh well
Different carriers in the US or internationally?

I once read that the s3 had a camera feature that lets you scan docs and converts it into text.does the note 2 have that too?

Now that Im not sure of. I was hoping it was for the U.S. The thought of having this phone and only being able to use it on sprints network is damn near nauseating.
The day that all the providers allow phones to be used on other US/domestic providers openly, is the day that providers will no longer be necessary.
There's no phone in existance that will openly allow you to activate it with any provider. Exception would be unlocked GSM phones that could technically be activated on T-mobile or ATT, but they still wouldn't have 4g connectivity. And the phone is going to be offered on all the other providers as well, so why would it be nauseating if you don't need to be on Sprint?
If you're under contract, even if it did have an open/unlocked SIM, it would still only be open to international SIM, not US domestic.
I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but my question is for those experts of S3 and Note2!
Do we know if all of these features from S3 are available for the Note2?
iPhone 5 vs Galaxy S3
I'm switching from iPhone 4 and am really looking forward to every single one of these differences S3 offers. Are these all android + jellybean options? Are there some options that S3 will have that Note2 will NOT have? Thanks much appreciated.
well im currently on sprint and i have 3 smartphones with my employee discount roughly coming out to around 150 a month. IM pretty sure thats about as good as im going to get pricewise out of all the majors. The downside is data speeds actually appear to be worsening and its to a point now where you get what you pay for. My area is supposed to to be upgraded but theres no telling with Sprint. The same iphone is actually used on all carriers. even the sprint version has a sim card slot.
If you watch videos comparing Google Now and Siri on youtube, GN is pretty incredible and beats Siri hands downI've done a lot of reading about the S3 and the Note 2 and from what I've read the Note 2 has all of the features of the S3 plus a bunch more relating to the pen and the big screen space. So you'll have all of the Android Jelly Bean features (I really don't think Samsung removed any) plus all of the S3 Touchwiz/Nature UX features plus all of the Note 2 features (multitasking, hovering with s-pen etc).
Does anyone know if the camera has a zoom feature? The zoom on my Razr camera is really good. Would hate to have such an advanced phablet as the Note 2 with something simple as zoom not being part of the camera software.
There were early videos of the Korean Note 2 events that showed one awdsome feature where u could pinch to zoom on an object or person's face and it would auto focus on that, while zooming
Softbank is a good Japanese phone company. I'm excited for new developments
You'd probably have way more insight to all of this than most of us, wyndslash. Are they exclusively in Japan or are they a provider across different countries in Asia...including PI?
One thing that I can see happening now, is Sprint will more likely build more international friendly phones, rather than having their ridiculous international roaming fees.
ps...did you watch the Donaire fight? I went to watch live!
I'm not into boxing, lol. Well, as I know, they are an exclusively Japanese company but they have their fingers in several tech pies. Being they are Japanese, I'm sure they'd come out with creative solutions. When it comes to cellphone plans, I'm quite happy with the carriers in my country. They have such creative and customizable plans for everyone. Maybe it's because majority here are poor. Who knows.
I read before that you have to wipe the screen free of any dirt or prints before using a stylus or else it will damage the rubber tip. is this true also for the s-pen?
Prior to even applying the screen protector you need to clean the screen. Once on, you're good to go. Please know all rubber tips wear out no matter what stylus you're using. I keep rubber tips on hand for my bamboo stylus.
Note 2 isn't supposed to be used with a screen protector though right?
