Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Never regret shedding a tear over someone that touches your heart. Regret not letting someone touch your heart.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. You'll find that "right" guy someday.

Thanks. I guess I should have expected that it wouldn't work out. Online relationships rarely do. I guess I was the only one taking it seriously. I'm so stupid.

I can vouch for online relationships. I met AM on xbox and flew up to meet almost 2 months later.

Its a lot of hard work and dedication from both parties. As is any relationship but more so when your only means of contact is phone or computer.

I hope you recover quickly and keep looking for the right beau. Keep your head up. ;)

You are not stupid. Life is cruel. Just don't become a cynic, and you may enjoy a bunch of happy moments with someone before they reveal themselves to be a nitwit. Shed a tear or so, and then remember the fun you had. Someday you, like me, will cross paths with someone that you have nothing in common with, would never be attracted to, and wouldn't be interested in. And you will be smitten. And you will enjoy a life or trials and tribulations and will take them all on with zest as each day you awake with a kiss and an "I love you."

Sorry for letting my romantic side coming out.:o

I did think about flying out but the culture here is so different. My parents would probably have disowned me. It's not uncommon here. It's a very sweet story though :-)

This made me shed a few happy tears. Thanks for sharing :-) it's just...now I feel so silly. I actually thought he could be the one and I was already making plans of what to do after I graduate. And then he said he doesn't need the hassle and I guess I was apparently just a hassle to him. I guess it was my fault in the end. Too clingy.

Thanks for listening to me, both of you :-)

You do what is best for you. Don't worry about how others see it. Especially when it comes to matters of the heart. If I (or my wife) listened to common sense we wouldn't have even met. I was the guy who's wife had died a mere 3 months ago and she was the chick with a kid that had cancer. How's that sound? Really, there are a million more details involved that enhance that brief description, but how many casual observers of relationships consider that. But I recognize that those million details each could have prevented me from not only falling in love with, but even meeting the love of my life.

I'd love some closure (since after he dumped me he went offline) but he's ignoring my emails and PMs. So frustrating and hurtful.

I have a stray kitten staying with me for now, we can't keep her long-term (lease restrictions, plus problems with our established cat), and local shelters are full. Bonus points: solid black, right near Halloween. :(

Update: we did manage to find a shelter that could get the baby kitty into a foster situation until she's old enough to adopt out. I miss the little cutie, even knowing it's for the best for all parties.

Well, I cycle through my emotions pretty quickly. Did a little digging...now the only thing left is to find out his motives. :)

Why bother, you should let it end if that is what it is... exerting energy on finding out what is in people's minds is non productive. You never will and it will serve only to frustrate you. Just move on and it will all work out in the end.

That lady from Texas has good advice.:)

This whole turning the clocks back/forward thing...seriously could we just settle on a time??!

Right! I rant because I fell victim to the time change! Yup, even though my cellphone and computer auto updated.......i didnt look at either of them this morning when checking the time!

I personally think there should be one time all around Earth, and military time for that matter, it makes more sense. Now, I don't really *know* military time (have to think about it), but people would adapt rather quickly I think.

So some people would sleep from say, 2200 to 0600, and others would sleep from 0600 to 1400 and so on. Now, things like midnight would lose meaning a bit....

I like to think this would work well. But I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't like it. *shrug*

And not every state does it. Talk about confusing! It is a useless throwback like my other gripe:

The electoral college! Some say it is what makes our democracy American, but it is grossly flawed, and gives too much power to a few states. It ends up serving special interests, and undermines the definition of democracy.
I think one vote should be counted as one vote.

:confused::confused::confused:
I have yet to encounter a state that doesn't participate in daylight savings time... and I've been to ~40 of the great states in this country... care to elaborate on which one(s) don't?

I'm "The Android Guy" at work and answer everyones questions about smartphones and tech in general.
I hate it when someone asks me something like "Can you help me get all my pics onto my SD card so I can put it into a photo printer at the mall?" and I happily oblige, but somehow when I copy and paste, they disappear.

Eff...

And, her phone isn't rooted, so I can't use any of the recovery apps on the market.

At least I have AF!
