Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I'm heading off to work. In other words, I'll be back to complain about my day in a few hours.

I'll start if you like. :p

Just got called into work because apparently no one else is capable (despite having a full staff on hand today) of basic troubleshooting. Irony is that I can't go a DAY without getting called about stuff that everyone else should know... but my review says (among other things) that I do too much and need to let others handle problems (irony is that the people calling me all had a hand in that review).

You just can't win for losing, can you?

I got a cell phone originally 'cause my boss couldn't find me. He never could remember certain things, and he just wanted an answer. I didn't have to go in. One time he couldn't remember the combination for the garage door!

Sound like you need a raise:thumbup:

That grinds my gears:

Nothing is worse than customer service at both ATT and Verizon. They *do* differ in the call quality, though. On a Samsung Captivate, ATT service (I don't say things like this) "sucked rocks," on a Samsung Gusto phone Verizon service is loud and clear. I will never ever ever sign a contract for a phone -- lest I move away from decent call quality and get stuck. Rant is over for today.

Why do churches need to ring their bells at 8.30 on a Sunday morning, during the holidays? Waking up the entire village (including followers of other churches and non-believers)!
Half of their followers is out of the country for the holidays. And don't you think that they would know by now, when they are supposed to be in church?
Guys... build an app!! :o

Sasha so true. It's called am alarm for the people who go. This isn't the 1800s anymore, we don't need an alarm that wake up the whole town.

Church bells: Before watches were common, and society was mostly rural, they used to ring the half and quarter hours, too.

I haven't heard a bell for years.

The fire alarm.

I 100% agree with the sirens on the emergency vehicles, but the alarm on the fire hall is now irrelevant.

Everyone has an emergency scanner, cell phones and pagers. The alarm calling the firefighters in for a fire is no longer needed.

Old habits / traditions die hard.

Mid 10 mile run this morning my phone rang ... and rang... and rang... and rang... and rang.

I don't care how many times you call, it won't make me answer! I have a voicemail, use it.

I LOVE hearing the church bells! Although I'm far enough away to where it just sounds really peaceful and sort of chimey in the distance..:)

But this church is near, it got late last night and the weather is perfect to sleep with the window open. Eight thirty is not a cool time to wake up. :o

My latest rant is that I can not complete the simplest of tasks in these dang Nancy Drew games that my daughter brings home for me to play. I really want to enjoy them, but I get so frustrated when I can't do something, and she loads up the game and completes the task in record time.
It makes me feel so stupid!!!!!:(:o:rolleyes:

Do you know what grinds my gears? When **** in the laundry room at the apartment complex doesn't work right!

After I put my change in the dryer, the damn thing wouldn't even turn on.

Now I got clothes hang-drying all around the apartment, AGAIN. This is the second time in a row this happened to me.

I loved hearing church bells in the distance. Don't hear them at all now, but then I don't think we have them in Inner Mongolia.
