Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Islam allows 4 wives, and the Mormons had multiples before polygamy was banned. We still have an outlaw sect that believes in plurality.

Some of it made sense years ago in societies with more females than males. Not today, although I told the Vulcan he could bring home whoever as long as she liked doing housework.

Well said. How to integrate portions of Christianity and Islam? Answer: Joseph P. Smith, and The Church Of Latter-Day Saints (chuckle).

I had to pay for tickets today, for a plane flight that is planned in 8 months. Who is collecting the interest over that sum, eh?

The airlines are a racket unto themselves - hang in there, Kaat72; if all else fails, raise eightch-eeee-double hockey sticks (haha), and good luck. You can elect to get cheaper by buying stand-by tickets, but, hey - airlines - especially AirTran - really stink.

Actually, Kaat probably got the most reasonable price by booking early... all the airlines overbook their flights and the closer to takeoff the prices for the remaining seats go up.

As for standby... all I can say is prepare to wait.

That's how I booked a flight in advance for a family reunion a few years back; I saved over 30% from the original round-trip ticket price, and I booked the flight (USA) a year in advance. One thing that did happen was that my flight itinerary changed; a sister airline took the flight, and my departure time changed to a day earlier, and a different time; other than those changes, my return flight was on the same day and time, and, the original airline.

This guy comes into McDonald's today and asked for a extra sauce. Me being the good employee who follows the rules, I say "we are suppose to charge $0.25 for them " he throws a fit, now I'm sure to not give him any. Instead he ask for me name. I refuse to give it to him. I don't give angry customers my name. He says that he is going to put it in the news paper that we charge for sauces, as if anyone reads the newsaper. Haha

Ugh, this day sucks. It's cold and rainy, I'm late for work and I got bill collectors on my ass. What a perfect Monday!

EDIT: At least I got most of this day behind me.

That's when you get the manager on duty, and let them handle it. People can be real jerks, sfbb - you were right to be upset with someone who's being disrespectful, but that's why managers get paid the salary they get - let them deal with the idiots, and your day will be stress-free. My dime's worth. Or, if you're feeling froggy next time, ask the customer if he or she likes it when someone comes to their place of employment, and treats them like a second-class citizen (?)...

Well, my lady underwent a tracheotomy this AM, and a gastric tube. Man, I wish I could be there with her; but, finances kill that. I'm in NC, and she's in CO. I just want her to come home. I don't work again until the thirty-first of this month; money's tight, and so is gas in the car - not to mention two dogs that have to be fed and cared for, along with myself. I'm so alone - that's what is grinding my gears right now... this photo is of my Mary this AM, just before the trach & g-tube, sent from her Mom via email.

Mobile phone carrier newspeak...
"*30 day Unlimited Plans include a limited amount of high speed data per 30 day cycle."

Why "unlimited" when it's clearly limited?

Careful, or your thought crimes will be punished.

I've been going to the gym for the last couple weeks (first time in years I have exercised) doing squats and dead lifts. been loving how I feel and how the exercises make me sore.
Suddenly, an old injury (torn labrum in my left hip) has come back to bite me in the proverbial arse. Now I can't do the one thing that makes me feel physically well in a way I was excited about and "pumped" to be doing. Hurts to walk, so no running, yoga, biking, skiing etc. I can't even swim except for easy wading.
Guess I'll be skipping leg day, every day.

Oh that's what I did. I got the manager, went to the back to tell my co workers and we all laughed at how stupid he was being. We do it all the time for people like that.

What's grinding my gears now is trying to find a 16 GB CDMA Moto G so I can use it with boost mobile.

Is it wrong to cuss out a Senior Citizen in a Rascal Scooter, i swear this guy makes people late on the bus on purpose when i know that where he is going a van will pick him up for that  3 days out of the week he makes me miss my connecting bus to get to work on time ........ try telling your boss your late do to an old dude in a Rascal, they don't fall for that .

just a Rant

Wish I could help you out 'phone-wise'; and, it is good that you shared the misery up the'food-chain' at work.

Well I emailed a copy of my passport, Mastercard and full bank account details to Bruce. Should get my 375,000 in South African Rand very soon...hopefully.

Did the former African Prince 'Bruce' - who is in exile - make the requests through your email's spam folder (chuckle)? $374,999 Rand is nothing to sneeze at, like fresh-water lake property in the Gobi desert ;)

Four back surgeries, and I wish now that I never went under the knife; good luck getting your body used to the gym, and may your pain levels remain low - LW

How's the lady LW?

She got a tracheotomy and gastric tube yesterday at 8 AM Mountain Time, USA; her recovery has been slow, but hopefully steady. I've got dogs getting out of the fenced-in yard, and I'm disabled from one-too-many back surgeries; two dogs, and me with a cane. I can't find where they're getting out at, so, I don't know what to do, aside from going outside with them armed with dog treats. I miss my lady so much; between both of us, we can figure things out. Alone, I'm worthless. I guess that I need to quit whining... thank you for asking, Kaat72. Have a good week. LW
