Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Damn, the bus to work is late, AGAIN.

Buses can really be a pain - especially when the driver is in the middle of a route change; things get screwy, and most times passengers aren't even aware of the changes. The drivers have to get their new stops 'dialed-in', so the route takes nearly the same time. Or, the driver's new. Or... (insert expletive here) it could be the driver is waiting for a passenger that they know who normally boards the bus at that particular stop. Hope your day improves - LW

That's where I live!

In fact, I take walks there

Just tweeted a private funtweet. At least I thought I did... Tweeted on behalf of my employer to many, many followers instead. Oopsy...

A 'private funtweet' = personal message; yet, depending on which Twitter app you use, it can end up being a tweet. The 'arrow box' icon is supposed to be private, yet, I did the same thing - tweeting the message receiver, his followers, along with all of my own. It's called a 'Twit-tastrophy'... it's an evil plot, I tell you. My Mary's cath lab turned out okay; no blockages, et cetera; but, there was small damage to one of the walls of her heart - due to the type of virus she got infected with. They're saying that it isn't H1N1, yet, it's a type they've never seen before. It's probably a gift from somewhere in Asia; so much cargo shipping, so many bugs (I hope my buddy mikedt doesn't take offense from that last comment). It could be from anywhere. It starts with a cough, 'cause Mary picked it up from her son, and mother; and, it has nearly taken her from me. What a segue that was... thank you for bearing with me, everyone - especially Kaat72. :D

Mary's being moved to a rehab facility - it's going to be a long haul, but the same medical team will be caring for her. Her mom says possibly tomorrow; the docs are saying she should make it, aside from the 'long haul' scenario; God, what a road this has been, and we're still in the fight. I miss her so much; keep sending your prayers, and positive energy. Thanks for everyone's support. :)

Glad to hear things are looking up somewhat. I just wish you could be there with her. I'm sure it would help you both a lot. What a nightmare trip that turned out to be.:(

I may not be one for prayin' (see my name...) but I do truly wish the best for you and your sweetheart. It sounds like she has a lot of people pulling for her, and that does make a difference.
All the best wishes from the Frozen Minnesotan!

glad she is starting on the road to recovery...
I know it must be daunting and very hard for you not to be with her...stay positive I'm sure she knows you are right beside her even if not physically

Oh man, I haven't even been up for two hours yet, and the day is already off to a hectic start. I had to catch up my rent before going to work this morning. Today was the deadline before facing "legal action", and the leasing office would only take a money order as payment.

So I walked to the convenience store around the corner, and the money order machine was broken, again. So I had to run to another store further down to buy the money order, and double back to the leasing office to drop off the payment. And all of this happened within half an hour. Now I'm on my way to work.

We're a helluva bunch, aren't we? If we each had a wooden leg, it would have termites... I hope that the day improves for you, and since it's Friday, it should. I'm exhausted, because of uncontrollable stress that kept me awake until nearly 4 AM. As Dr. McCoy would say in Star Trek, "Dammit, Jim." May all of us have a better day, and a decent week's end... LW

what grinds my gears is being woken up at 4:45 am ..going out in the cold dark night just to rescue somebody from their own stupid immature stupidity...

Huh, I hope the rescue was immediately preceded with pointing, laughing, and other forms of mockery to prevent said subject from succumbing to similar bouts of stupidity again in the future.

I've learned that you can't stop people from being Stupid

Speaking of being stupid, I'm the guy who thought that the retweet icon at Twitter was for personal messages; I was definitely a day late, and a dollar short when it comes to the brain cell department... :idiot:

Seriously 4:45am, they would have been waiting on me for a loooooong time

Huh, I hope the rescue was immediately preceded with pointing, laughing, and other forms of mockery to prevent said subject from succumbing to similar bouts of stupidity again in the future.

I have a younger (half) brother that has definitely ruined his life the suspected part. The mad part is mad, the disappointed part is the one that really hurts. Glad Hubbyhuh was there.:)

I was a mad-hatter when I was younger; if it was anything 'for the head', I was there. Now, I'm clean and sober, and have been for years. Before that, I was ruining my life, and hurting the lives of others. My ex was an alcoholic, like her father was. Yet, I was no saint. I'm a firm believer in owning up to what you do in life, and I raised two kids to do the same; you know, it's really good to hear them echo my sentiments when it comes down to what's happening in American society. There's no accountability, nor responsibility with many people today. You need to own your bad behavior; I'm a Boomer, and my parents grew up during the Great Depression. Things were 'yes' or 'no' in my house as a kid; there was no such thing as 'grey areas' when I was growing up. Today, however, parents have lost their rights to be parents, just like teachers can't be teachers, and politicians have to be worth millions before they run for office. That's what grinds my gears. I, in the words of Brian Wilson and Peter Asher, just wasn't made for these times. I am, however, still an idealist in many ways. Yet, I'm very old-school. What a mix. Everyone have a great weekend. ;)
