Root [Release] Android 2.2 Froyo for the Droid X

Was it okay to copy the su instead of moving it? Because I'm all booted up and none of my root apps will work

I've never rooted until now.

Whats the best proceedure for froyo with root?

Install update, and then use the root app fabulous posted?

Anyone notice our bootloader have been updated to 30.01? We might have just screwed ourselves

Does the eye lock up or keep moving? It takes a really long time to get past the eye on the first bootup after update.zip.

it keeps moving and I am stuck there after flashing the sbf after updating to 2.2 since I was trying to get root back

Is this Motorola's leaked 2.2 or stock 2.2? That is, does it natively come with Motoblur and all the other crap? Or is it vanilla Froyo, kind of like what Nexus One gets?

We didn't have the boot loader cracked anyways.

Crap I just reinstalled koushs recovery and I'm now boot looping:mad:

and I don't have my data cable to re flash the sbf F!

Uh oh, I installed it too and strapped the recovery...haven't rebooted yet though. Shouldn't it delete the files upon one unsuccessful boot and boot back into Android?

I just did, after I got stuck like you I rebooted into recovery and wiped data and cache then booted into bootloader then it worked:)

So what did you do? Bootlooped, so you booted into recovery (holding home) deleting data/cache, and then rebooted and you got into 2.1?
