Root [Revised] Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.5 Dummies Guide

ok so when i first go to the bootloader for a brief second in green letters it says something like"checking sd card...no image found." Then it shows the normal menu.
Is that right?
 
so i did setps 7,8,9 and the command prompt looks like this, and the phone is on the red exclamationpoint screen

ok so i press the buttons and it goes to the recovery screen

blue menu up top

yellow cant open /cache/recovery/command at the bottom

i select reboot now

the phone reboots to htc sense

i enter step 10 command

it goes into boot loop and command prompt says this

ok i think i got it. sorry it slipped my mind. so lets start over(i know sorry, but a fresh start would be easier).

now after you do the taco root command and get the phone to reboot, when it comes to the entering the command for the flash.img file close the command window. then re-open the command window and then enter the flash img command from there.
 
hey man this is a great learning experience for me. its giving me a bit of a head ache but if it works it will be worth it. i really appreciate all your help

ok reboot to recovery menu...
 
Let the phone loop for a few min It may boot at this point The instructions say you can do comands with it looping but that is incorect because it needs to at least mount the sd card or adb wont find the files.
