Glad to see you are moving along well!
Unlocked and s-on is correct.
When you are in recovery and you select the usbms toggle, it mounts the phone as disk drive so that you can move files from computer to phone or vice-versa.
When done moving files, just hit the power button to unmount phone.
Just remeber the superwipe is not a rom, it is an assist to wipe the phone before flashing a rom.
When you find the rom you desire, you download rom to computer, transfer to sd card and use the superwipe to help wipe..
There are detailed instructions at the beginning of this guide.:D

did you follow directions on how to flash it from the guide? if so then not to worry, you are still rooted. go into your app drawer and find the superuser app and run it.check the app, there should be a list of apps that have been denied permission. you can allow the app(the one that has been denied root access). hopefully that works. if not then try and uninstall and re-install the app.

i dont have that, guess that means i was unsucessful with flashing the rom. does the MikG file need to be a zip when i transfer it to sd card? or will it still work if i unzip then transfer to sd card(which is what i did)?

ok so going forward you should never unzip any files unless told to do so. the rom file needs to stay zipped. you should have gotten an error in recovery. or at least your recovery may have not recognized it as a flashable file.

anyways you will need to re-flash the rom. after it is done you will know right away that you have been successful as there will be the mik splashscreen follow by his bootanimation. can't miss it. if you get the usual sprint stuff on boot then something went wrong.

ok I am officially rooted! and have the mik mik rom! thank you all for your help! any recomendations on what to do now that i am rooted
congrats!!!!!!!!!!

i would start by reading the second post. it has tons of info for you to know. check it out and please feel free to ask questions.

Hi, I'm having some problems with the tacoroot method. once i get through step 11, there is a $ that appears instead of a # and it won't let me continue. I had a problem with bootlooping, but i cleared the cache in recovery and that seemed to help the bootloop, but i still get the $ symbol. What should i do next?

okay so the taco root command did not work. and you said that you wiped cache in recovery? how did you get that? is your bootloader unlocked? and the taco root command will most likely put the phone in a bootloop as it is very unstable, but it will allow commands to work.

so please verify if you have your bootloader unlocked.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!
what method and step are you at? there three ways to root and all of them use the PC36IMG files and each are different in their use.

ok then something did not go right. it looks like you did not successfully downgrade your misc partition. are you sure your outputs matched with what is shown in the guide? it needs to be exact.

odd something went wrong somewhere then. try and do a fresh download of the PC36IMG file and try it again. if that does not work then you may want to try the whole process again.

the whole idea is that with taco root you first gain access to the system partition using the taco root command. and from there you can downgrade your misc partition which in turn will allow you to use a PC36IMG ruu to downgrade your radios and hboot so that unrevoked can be used to finally give you s-off with a custom recovery.
