loaded team dirt's rom but google now doesnt work any suggestions
Holy crap this was easy! Well, relatively speaking I guess for a first timer. I have only one tiny tweak to the instructions I'd like to throw out there. I used the TacoRoot method. In step 14, where you indicate the original download needs to be renamed to PC36IMG, I would leave out the bit about adding an extra .zip to the end of the file. That just confused me. Anyone smart enough to be doing any of this stuff has already turned off the default "Hide known extensions" feature in Windows so we can actually see what file extensions we're working with. I mistakenly just named the file PC36IMG without a .zip the first time and got a little stumped. Finally understood I did actually need a .zip at the end and the rest was a piece of cake. Maybe that's just me.
NICE!!!!!!!!
glad it worked for you.
well my only issue about wether to add a .zip or not really depends on how the computer is set up. everyone's is different. for me i left the default settings and my computer does not show extensions. for some like you its different and there will always be people like me. some really do not know that they can change the default settings so......i always have added that little bit.
anyways i'm glad though that you figured it out. now go and get your flash on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Are you here?Ok so how do I get the command prompt window to come up when im in fastboot usb in step 3 so I can flash the recovery?
1.download amon ra 2.3 from here:
PC36IMG_RA_2.3.zip
2.extract the file and then go into and move recovery.img file into the android folder you created when unlocking your bootloader.
3.on your phone after you have unlocked your phone you should be in the bootloader menu screen, select the fastboot option
4.on your computer press and hold shift while right clicking the android folder.
5.select open command window here option (windows 7)
6.enter command:
Are you here?
Are you here?
sorry double posted somehow
@sha4000 it would be better to post a screenshot of the command window.
and just to be sure did you extract the files? they need to be extracted and put on the sd card.
ok I figured it out and you guys were right I had the flash image and mtd folders on the root so I went and took the images out of the folders and then deleted the folders so now im flashing the gingerbread pc36img and I have hboot 2.16 s-on
NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now go and get your root on with revolutionary so that you can get your flash on![]()
If I remember correctly, there was something about an "I" and a "1" being similar.thx, Im trying to root with revolutionary and when i put in my beta key it tells me I failed to get root. I have uninstalled htc sync and turned off a/v.

Make sure your "I" is an "I" and not a "1" or the other way around.....
Edit: I just saw your key was accepted...hmmmm...
Edit: you may have to use the Froyo PC36IMG to get your hboot to 2.10 and then use the unrevoked site but not 100% sure
do you have usb debugging turned on?
