Ive tried the unrevoked a couple of times but it wont take. Ill do it again and post a screen shot.
ok a screen shot will help. did you setup the hboot drivers correctly? you need to follow the wiki that is linked in the guide.
Im pretty sure I did everything correctly but Ill go thru it again thx.

ok so wait your software version is 5.07 still? how is that possible? what PC36IMG file did you use? you do not have any other PC36IMG files on the sd card still, do you?
I used captain throwbacks method and at first flashed the GB pc36img and that got me hboot 2.16 and then I tried to root with revolutionary but it would not take see image below.
Then Mike suggested I might need to flash the froyo pc36img which is also in the guide. So I flashed that which changed my hboot from 2.16 to 2.10 but still left me with GB 2.3.5 and software 5.07.
Also I was goimg to try it in disk drive but when I plugged in my usb the option was not there anymore but I see htc sync as an option but I dont see it anywhere on the phone and Im pretty sure I deleted it off my PC.

ok so this is odd. not sure why the PC36IMG file did not change the software version. you should be on stock froyo. not sure if this is the heart of the issue, as unrevoked uses radios for there exploit to work. you have the correct radio, but my guess is your software maybe the one preventing it, but i could be wrong. so lets try a ruu instead. RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.exe
download this and run it on your computer and hook the phone up when it says for you to do so.

It keeps telling me to check my usb cable but I know its working bcuz i have been moving the files btw my pc and phone all day.

Have you tried switching usb ports?
do you have htc drivers installed? maybe delete the usb android driver from unrevoked and install the htc sync drivers.
Ok ill try switching ports but I did delete all the drivers bcuz I was going to try unrevoked again from scratch. So which drivers should I install?
first to run the ruu use htc sync drivers. delete that when ruu is done and it has worked. then go ahead and follow the unrevoked wiki to get usb drivers installed.

Thank you so much. I got it all up and working now. I flashed Amon and am backing up right now. This is my ladys phone which they switched out bcuz her speaker was bad. She was bugging me to put the SNS GB rom back on her phone lol.

Yes the ruu worked after I downloaded htc sync. I then deleted all the htc sync files like you said and breezed right thru unrevoked. One question though, should I upgrade the hboot? I rooted originally with revolutionary and it was a breeze compared to this lol.

lol do not mess with your hboot. leave it at hboot 2.10. the only thing you should do is update your radios, but that is about it. now go and get your flash on
