welcome to the forums!!!!!

do not extract the zip file. leave it zipped. only unzip things if you are told to do so. your recovery will extract the file and flash the rom for you.

i edited the flashing section to reflect this so that others will not get confused as i have seen a few of these mistakes. now go and get your flash on:D

Question. This part of step 1: (5.create a new folder and call it android)...we create the folder on our computer right, not the phone?

hi. i rooted my phone and it says im not rooted. i followed all the processes and got to the end of the bootloader.

Hey hey there and welcome!!
I assumed you just unlocked your bootloader via the htcdev website?
If so, that is part, but not all of the process.
Just continue on in the rest of this guide to install a custom recovery, then either flash superuser and stay on current rom or flash a custom rom...
You are almost there!
Just remember to read carefully and dont be afraid to ask any question....been there, done that!:)

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!
like mikey said you need to finish steps #2 and #3 to be fully rooted with the HTCdev method.

you need a custom recovery so that you can either flash the su file and stay stock or flash a custom rom.

let us know if you have any questions.

how do i put it on to the sd card
o.k..once it is on your computer, and you have renamed it properly, plug your phone into your computer and mount as disk drive (the option for that is on your phone)
Navigate to the drive assigned to your phone...perhaps E: or F: on your computer.
Open that up and what pops up is the contents of your sd card.....
Drag the PC36IMG.zip file to your sd card and make sure you dont drag and drop it into any folder...just drop it on the sd card.
Then unmount phone, and unplug.
Then continue on in the guide.
