Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

This has now become a daily user since the hotspot is working. The launcher gave me big problems on this build, that it had not before. I switched to NOVAlauncher after reading the posts here and it is much more stable.

The signal strength bars seem to never go above 2 even though on previous builds they seemed on par with he MIUI build I was using. Then they would go to full strength when near a tower, now it just seems to hang at one and two bars.

Battery life is not as great as it used to be and I am wondering if that is wifi related? Battery life worse than MIUI.

No problems with the market other than I had to uninstall and reinstall a few than did not show up in my pages of apps but market showed them installed.

For me, battery has been better than MIUI, even though I don't use Juice Defender with CM9.

Juice defender was a must with MIUI. I have it installed with CM9 but dont see much difference with or without.

I do miss the IOS concept of a single inbox or single icon to get all of your email (gmail and pop3)

The Email app should be able to do this. You can set it up as a widget. I have issues with yahoo mail though. I had a unified gmail and yahoo inbox to begin with.It worked for a few days then started to say that my yahoo password was wrong.

I use Seven Mail. True instant push notifications and it's not a battery or resource hog.
It handles ALL e-mail accounts.

What's the default MTU on the this ROM/Kernel? 1500 or 1472?

In other words, do you still need to change the MTU setting on the WiFi client for tethering to work?

I have found the only ROM that does has this fix is MIUI.

Ahhh zRam compressed all the way and purging assets checked... + moderate OC makes this rom sooooo smooth... I highly recommend using these options

For us newbs, would you mind describing how this is done? OC'ing I get, but the first two suggestions I am unfamiliar with.

don't check purging just yet..I started getting forced reboot's alittle bit ago.. if that happens uncheck it but test it for yourself.. zRam is still ok at 28%

Who me?
I don't use asset purging at all... And don't recommend it.
Blurry eye just wanted to know where the settings were located.

Oddly, my google calendar is not able to sync on the account. (check your settings??).

I realize this is alpha. I was able to live with it until I noticed no calendar sync. back to Miui until we progress i guess.

Awesome job devs!!

bluetooth and wifi - do they conflict in cm9 like in cm7?

I pm'd mantera about it...it does conflict from time to time wifi will get flaky and cut out (seems to cut out when you first turn BT on) so hopefully it can be fully working with wifi in beta or something.. but ok for now.
