Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

I have an apple headset that worked on CM7 along with the "JAYS Headset Control" app. I plugged in my headset and the app only picked up the 116 (Power) button. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not clear on exactly what's not working? Are you saying that this headset has media controls and those buttons don't work?

If that's what you're saying then the answer is that apparently the media controls on headsets are not working atm.

If you want to help, read back to my post about 6 posts above your post and see what those buttons map to and report back.

That's really weird. I was playing music all day yesterday (using headphones) on my phone and never ran into that.

Did your phone run out of power overnight? Was the music app still running when you woke up or had it stopped some time during the night? If it had stopped, you need to figure out why it stopped; perhaps some app or process started up during the night and killed it?

Are you overclocking/underclocking? undervolting? If you are doing any of that, try using stock settings.

Are you using the stock Music app? If not, try the stock app and see if that makes a difference.

Do you have other apps running in the background at the same time?
Are you running any sort of task killers or battery saving type apps such as Juice Defender? If you are, try turning them off and see if that makes any difference.

I'm on the v0.6.8.9 ICS and my wifi isn't working great. It'll connect if I do it manually, but after it goes to sleep and I wake it up it will not connect. It says 'not in range' or 'obtaining ip address' without connecting.

Also my 3G connection speeds are horrendous under ICS, especially download speeds. Upload speeds are pretty good.

Is there anything I can do to help with these? I love ICS and these are both huge problems for me.

For wifi, I recommend that you set it to Never sleep when the screen is off and instead, if you're not going to be using the wifi, to manually turn it off. I use the power widgets in the notification bar to turn it on and off quickly when I want to use wifi or not. Even when back on stock, wifi sucked at connecting to the access points so it's better overall to just manually turn it on/off. Just be aware that for now, wifi doesn't always auto connect to a saved network and you might need to enable/disable it twice to get it to connect or manually connect it.

As for 3g, I personally haven't noticed any difference to cm7 or stock--at least in my area.

What I was saying is that in the ButtonRemapper app the only visible button to remap after plugging in the headset was the power with a value of 116. I was asking if the process I did was incorrect in finding the values since I could not see anything. I noticed in the screenshot of the app in the link you provided there were several options (e.g. volume up/down, power, home, back, etc.) where on my screen it only shows power.

basically its a relax and sleep app so i can tune out loud people in my building... if i leave it on while i sleep wake up and no sound but i do have an alarm set its gone off before with sound it'll vibrate but i dont think the alarm sound goes through my headphones ethier.. ill test it again tonight.. see what really goes on

the app doesnt crash or anything and i am running savagedzen so ill try i with stock settings and yes my phone stays charged throughout the night.

Question: if i upgrade from CM7 reloaded to CM9 will i get updates and fixes pushed to me.

for say a new build is released to fix the cam do i have to do a whole process of reloading and formatting or will an update be pushed to me?

Thanks much, been waiting for ICS for a bit

I hope someone is working on wifi. It has never been more than 40-50%. The Wi-Fi does not like commercial access points. You can fiddle with your home router and it works most of the time, but leave home and you can't depend on it to see saved Access Points. You are correct. 'Out of Range' and 'Connected' but not working is the norm. Frustrating. I think it is unique to the TP since I have phone with CM9 without Wi-Fi issues

Ahh, ok. Thanks for clarifying. To answer your question, I'm not sure what the answer would be. Perhaps Raptor5150 can answer the question better since I haven't actually used the app but he has.

When there are updates, you can just clear caches and flash the new zip and you will be alright. You don't have to redo everything.

There's no ROM on the Triumph that will have updates pushed to you. You'll need to download any updates and install as usual in CWM. However, in general, you don't need to wipe data/factory reset when doing an update from one version of cm9 to the next. You can just flash the new version over the old version and all of your apps and settings should remain. (in fact, you could even try just flashing cm9 over your cm7 rom and flash the new GAPPS file and that should work; however, for best performance, I recommend a full wipe when coming from cm7/miui/stock).

However, having said that, if you run into problems, one of your first troubleshooting steps should be to do a full wipe data/factory reset and then flash the ROM clean and see if whatever the issue is still happening before reporting it as an issue; a lot of times, issues can occur because of misbehaving apps and not because of the ROM.

Also, I have noticed that when I have my phone plugged in to the cigarette plug and running either tune in radio or maps that it looses charge. I would have thought that with it being plugged in (no matter what app Im using), it would have enough to charge. Has anyone else had this problem??? Thanks for your feedback and help.

It's weird that it would do that. Have you tried the same charger in cm7 or stock froyo and does the same thing happen? The reason I ask is that the charging code hasn't changed since stock so I can't see how there would be a difference.

Perhaps your charger is being seen as a USB charger and so the phone is only pulling the 2 ma that by default it draws when on USB.

I suppose I could up that a little but I'm personally leery of increasing it too much because I leave my phone plugged into my USB port a lot while I'm running tests or logcats, etc so I'm leery of drawing too much power and shortening the life of my battery.

It is a usb cord that plugs into a usb cigarette liighter that Im using when I use those apps with it charging and it loses charge. Would I have better luck with just a cigarette cord thats not usb?? Thanks for your feedback.

Ok, that would explain it. Yes, I'd try just a straight cigarette cord that's not usb. In theory, it should have the proper pin so that the phone will realize it's on AC and it will draw the full charge instead of just the 2 ma charge when on USB.

ill see if i can find my sister's skull candies but if anything you need to find a keylayout related to headset controls and see whats not binded right in the layout file. i had that problem with my controller and had to replace the number to what the phone thought i was pressing.. even though it was right for other phones/tablets. Somthing isnt right with ours xD

Yep. 2 milliamps. That's correct.

Uh, you sure that's not 200mA?
I think it would take around 40 hours to fully charge a dead stock battery, with the phone turned off at that rate... May not ever f fully charge without damage.
Not trying to argue with you, but that just seems strange on several levels.

That's weird, my 3G and WiFi has not been a problem for me at all.
