Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Netflix test: rom cm9 v0.6.11.1...I just flashed the rom did a wipe/factory reset first everything is working fine with the rom. Don't know if it is going to effect how netflix works but I am using smartassv2 oc to 1.3. Netflix opens fine, brings up Netflix menus fine, and the interface seems good. When I load a show/movie the video of it gets stuck on the load screen but the sound plays. Not sure if sound and video are syncing obviously cause video isn't playing. Everything seems to be working great with the rom. Thank you again dev team for all the hard work you guys rock! You make this phone worth having.

ok, just noticed this. After switching to 6.11.0 some of my contacts were missing. I then checked my google sync google is no longer available as a sync option. I then tried to launch the play store and it wouldn't try and then kick me back to the home screen. What's going on?

crap, just realized that I have to reflash GAPPS too. didn't realize they wouldn't stay after an update.

Yes, you do need to reflash gapps. I just added that note to the OP so nobody else runs into that.

Just an FYI, Google Earth now works in 6.11.0.

Also, I never got a response on my signal issues. Any thoughts from the devs?

Thanks for the report on Google Earth. Probably all of those video fixes fixed it too.

For your signal issue, I haven't noticed any difference between this and other roms. Check your numerical signal value and not the bars. The bars may look different between roms based on how it's coded to show but the numbers should not be that different. Menu --> System Settings --> About Phone --> Status

Mantera have u heard anything from yumbrad lately or is he still off the grid just wondering somebody had said he was working on camera

No, I haven't heard from him.

Edit: Just noticed. My 1000th post! Wooohooo!

Ok, that confirmed my suspicion and I just tested and was able to reproduce your issue.

It seems that if you do a "format system" in CWM, it seems to format system into a format that is causing the bootloops.

You should NOT be manually doing a format system in CWM before flashing any future CM9 updates since flashing the ROM will automatically format system into EXT4 format properly.

Doing a factory wipe/reset data is fine.
Yup, "format system" causes bootloops
I can now install clean, thanks for the tip mantera, I always formatted system.

Okay, noob question but when updating from 6.10.3 can I just wipe the cache and delvik cache without doing a data/factory reset so that I can keep all of my apps and not go through the entire process of installing? Thanks!

Correct. You can just install it over the previous build and all of your apps will remain. HOWEVER, if you run into issues, your first troubleshooting step should be to try a clean wipe/reinstall before reporting it as a "bug".

To tell you the truth, I usually don't even bother wiping cache/dalvik cache in between builds.

It was all good! And thanks for the tip about not wiping cache/dalvik cache because if it's two processes that I don't have to go through then I'll be happy with that lol

Oh something else that I thought I should advise you on, when I go to change my profile by holding the power button and getting that menu, I select work or home but see no changes on the home screen. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I moved one of my icons on the Default profile then I selected the work profile and the icon didn't go to it's original position. Unless I'm thinking that the profiles are like those on an HTC device...

I think the profiles let you set what apps are started/running based on the application groups, volume settings, if wifi/bt/gps, etc are started, and so on only. It doesn't affect positions of icons as that is a launcher function.

Oh, I see. That makes a lot more sense now. Thank you for clearing that up!

Hi just downloaded the zip and about to flash. Just want to ask if its stable enough to use as an everyday ROM. i don't use my phone much just text messages, occasional calling, and taking pics. This ROM looks awesome so far BTW can wait to try it out :)

yes! It is stable enough for daily driving.
Well, except for the taking pics part. Camera isn't working yet.

Is there a way to make the wifi auto connect after enabling? This ROM great only thing missing is the camera and games occasionally hang for 10-15 sec but that happens on most non-froyo roms anyways.

Ahh, I think I screwed something up. I was running 0.6.6 and decided enough had changed that I was ready to take the time to update, and so I moved the new zip and gapps over to my SD card and booted into CWM recovery, then wiped data/factory reset and formatted cache and data. Now however, when I try to install from zip and select the 0.6.11 zip it gives me this in the console:

"Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...

Install from sdcard complete."

It never actually installs the zip and my CWM wont mount USB storage so I have no idea what to do from here. Help is appreciated!

Just wipe again but only wipe data factory reset don't format system then flash the rom

Did you wipe dalvik cache too? Maybe try to download it again it the zip might be corrupt

Yes I also wiped dalvik. I want to try and download it again but if I select to mount USB Device in CWM it goes to the screen with an option to unmount, but it never actually mounts the SD card and so I cant change the zip :x

Just wipe again but only wipe data factory reset don't format system then flash the rom

I tried but it gave me the same "Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...

Install from sdcard complete." thing and now its just stuck on the motorola logo unless I boot into CWM.

And if that doesn't work and its a bad zip download you could take out sdcard and put it in your computers card reader if it has one and redownload the rom then place it back in your phone then wipe data factory reset but don't format system and reflash

I used that micosd-sd card thing to replace the zip with a newly downloaded one and then put it back in my phone. Im running into the same problem, its not installing and it just sits on the Motorola splash screen. Im just going to try to flash back to an older version :/

So to be clear you are only hitting wipe data factory reset and that's all then flashing the rom correct ? It should flash just fine if you only do this.don't wipe anything else just hit the factory reset option then flash if that doesn't work I'm sorry I don't know what else would be wrong that's always worked for me
